Thank God nobody thought like that in the past or we would never have gotten Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, God of War II, among other greats.
This is when the advantage of having 20+ first-party studios that make exclusive games to take a system to the max begins to become apparent and too hard to stop.
It took a few years for the development to get started, but now they will flow out like an assembly line. Without exaggerating, I guarantee you that Sony already has at least 10 more exclusives waiting in the wings just from first-party alone waiting to be announced.
This isn't all that new for MMOs.
Well said. Games were definitely more about quality and not quantity in the 90's. Also, I've always wondered what the "gaming world" would be like if Nintendo had just moved to CDs when the N64 came out. They wouldn't have lost all their third-party devs and Final Fantasy wouldn't have left the Nintendo platform.
Even though I loathe what Nintendo has become now, maybe it would never needed to happen if they could have stayed on top. I must admit...
This is a complete fallacy. In the old days, developers were able to create the games that we still talk about today because they were free to tailor their masterpieces to the specs of a specific system and completely max it out.
This is how we got Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI and VII, Metal Gear Solid,Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, etc.
Now, everyone thinks that everyone is entitled to play everything and the developers are forced to dumb down thei...
Seriously, the imagination and innovation that went into the SNES era is amazing! To this day it's still my favorite system because of the incredible game library.
This is what can happen when all the great developer's can concentrate on maxing out a system instead of trying to make their games "equal" on more than one.
(Yes, I do know the Genesis existed at the time, but even then, everyone knew it was slightly inferior hardware and the mu...
Maybe they could tie it in with Madden somehow?
:D
The graphics are nice, but is the story good? Does it have secrets or hidden items to find?
I'm honestly asking this, not being sarcastic...I haven't played Crysis before.
There are a million generic shooters out there, but it's going to take a lot more than nice graphics to make me think about buying it.
Or worse:
Square-Enix and Activision-Blizzard merge to make even more craptastic games! (Blizzard quietly withdraws in order to continue making quality games)
Beware Treyarch and what's left of Infinity Ward. In a few years this will be you. Activision will suck what life they can out of you and then toss you out like yesterday's garbage once they can't milk you anymore.
I'd look into working for a publisher like Sony, who are willing to put the money and time into making quality and original games.
Next it will be "Final Fantasy XIII Gaiden-Sequel-Addon International Ultimate Edition: ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE"
Thank God! I loved Killzone 2, but the amount of swearing was ridiculous. It made me feel uncomfortable showing the game to other people just because of how "artificially bad-ass" the dialog tried to be.
"Hello, I would like to sue the makers of this gun. I pulled the trigger and it shot someone."

Pretty obvious it's not in America...
I love the highest rated comment on that YouTube video:
"French people, beware."
Musashi was a swordsman from Japanese history, not a sword.
The difficulty was made NG1 (XBOX/PS version) so awesome. It was truly an accomplishment to finish that game. There's nothing wrong with difficult games....it's why Demon's Souls is so awesome; please don't dumb this down, Team Ninja.
For the love all that is good, Sony...make a sequel to Legend of Dragoon!!!!
It's apparent that in point #3, the authors of this article do not understand networking. They state that because the PS3 has a 802.11g card instead of 802.11n, it has slower speeds than the 360. Technically, this is correct; 802.11n can transmit speeds of up to 600mbps and 802.11g of up to 54mbps.....however, this doesn't matter in the least. Know why?
Because I guarantee you that none of you have a connection from your ISP that even comes close to 54mbps...much less 600! ...
Maybe they can make a COD exercise game.
