I don't mind the companies doing PR - it's their job. I mind "journalists" / bloggers jumping on marketing slides for misleading headlines, instead of being reserved and objective until viable information arrives. The headlines wording is purposfully aiming at inciting a flamewar ...

Imo it's just marketing speech to adjust the expectations upfront. I think the actual problem is, that publisher cant justify to spend the money right now needed for AAA VR experiences. There is just no market yet to sell enough copys. For the beginning it'll be mini-games, rail-shooters, storytelling experiments, themepark-rides and so on.
That said: I strongly believe that there is a market for VR and it will grow over the next years. More AAA titles maybe due with the next...
A bit premature. Maybe wait for legit benchmarks and a pricepoint before announcing a victor?

For 1080p 970 will suffice for all modern games.
Nope. People seem to buy shit again and again. You gotta applaud the markting teams ...

ASUS, Saphire and MSI all teased their custom models allready - but no release dates yet.
Shouldn't take too long though. I guess in July.
I wouldn't wonder, if they "coincidently" release those around the GTX 1060 (paper?) launch.
Most gamers wait for custom designs anyway. And another connector is a simple fix.
But of course things like this shouldn't happen in the first place.
@Kornholic
Just read up on the research. It's nothing abstract, but quite real for many people - and honestly not hard to understand. We all have prejudices and bias towards certain groups (if we are aware of it or not doesn't change the fact).
Getting into certain positions has a lot to do with gender, race, looks, background, age etc.
It's delusional to think that the most skilled people get the jobs ...
That's why modern personal recruitment procedures should exclude any personal information (like pictures, age, gender etc.) from applications, when first scanning potential candidates. There is enough research on the bias even the most "objective" recruiters have.
Since objec...
@rainslacker
Fair enough.
I am just tired of all the bullshit published here on N4G. There are so many clickbait articles, so many missinformed opinion pieces etc. So if there pops up an article once in while, that actually tries to explain a technical concept (more or less objective) I try to promote it in one way or another. I do the same for every other article, that is just either well wirtten or well researched or takes an intersting viewpoint on a topic.

You make it sound as if good, well written articles are superfluous. They are definitly not, if you look at all the bullshit, that's published all over the web everyday!
Google can only search content, that someone puts out there. So another informative article in this bulk of info (which is the internet) is a big plus in my book.
Good, infromative article.

Just kiddin'.
If I would buy one now, it's the Wii U. It's still a great secondary console, if you like the exclusives.
Neo and Scorpio will be backwards compatible for sure, so no need to buy a PS4 or X1 now. One can play all the games on the upcoming systems as well. But NX will likely not be backwards compatible ...

I am all for controlling immigration as well. And I see the problems of finite resources and a finite capability of integrating people not only economically, but socially. Better solutions are indeed overdue.
What I am critizising are the "xenophobic" rightwing campaigns in Britain, that happend before the Brexit, and overshadowed a wider and propably more rational perspective of things.

My comment refers to the picture, which makes a good point.
People up to the age of 45 years have been all (in the majority) in favour of staying in the EU, where as only british voters above the age of 45 years were for the Brexit. Especially young voters below 24 years are very favourable of the EU - with good reason.

Maybe lets establish the VR industry first - before saving it.
Someone was really bored, I guess.
I personally like my Doom2 and Seinfeld nostalgia separated, though ...
Nudity is actually not normal - it's natural. Which is a difference. If it would be normal 70+ % of people would be nude all the time. They are not. Western society is covering the "sexual" bodyparts. That's the normal thing.
Watching porn is normal for men. Still unnormal (in the meaning of uncommon) for woman.
Also: If something is normal, it doesn't mean it is good. Normal often means mediocre, in bad scenarios even hate or violen...
