The playerbase dropped so rapidly, I honestly don't think they will support it for too long nor add massive amounts of content. But I wouldn't mind to be proven wrong ...
You could actually say it's a masterpiece in PR and (deceptive) marketing.
They made an average and overpriced indie game sell insane amounts of copies.
Is that good for the industry or the consumer? Absolutely not ... but I don't think the people profiting from the sells care too much.
Just sayin' ...
Actually this plays really well. They put a lot of thought in the movement system; it's quite skill based.
If they add more content till release (considering the price asked), I'll definitly get this.
@Rimeskeem
In my defense: I am not native english. For me premium meant "first class" or "upper class", which is indeed slightly different in meaning. In the sense you stated, you could indeed call the PS4 pro the premium line of PS4s. Allways nice to learn something.
An upgraded version of a product (that was mainstream befire) doesn't make it premium.
Think of cars: A midrange Nissan doesn't evolve into a premium model, like a Lamborgini, even if they release an upgrade with some more horsepower and a better soundsystem.
PS4 pro is still a mainstream product - it has great bang-for-the-buck value though.
The phenomenon is normal, but the severity is not.
Even if Xcom 2 lost 82% of its playerbase in the first month - that's a huge difference to 98%.
Basically nobody is playing the game anymore - which doesn't bode well for future support.
Playstation got some great exclusives and is convenient. Those are the main arguments to buy that console imo.
Everything else is better on PC. You got more options, cheaper games, a large library of old games and upgrading the hardware isn't anymore expensive than to buy a 400$ console every 3 years. I would even argue, that powerwise you allways come out on top spending this money.
It's a fight against windmills unfortunately ...
2018 sounds about right to me.
The next iteration of VR headsets should be due around that time.
If they want to stay competitive they will likely have to provide new hardware.
I've got the same worrysome vibe while watching the "gameplay".
I fear loads of fetch quests incoming; "Scan and collect 30 piles of shit ..."
Yeah, I hope the Pikmin rumour wasn't about that 3DS game ... Which is nice, but not what I exspected.
Indeed. The more the merrier.
It's good that games like Divinity: Original Sin or now Tides of Numenera find their way to consoles.
The studios earn some more money and hopefully will develop worthy successors.
As long as they keep providing good controlls (mouse/keyboard) for PC - I am happy.
Looking forward to this one btw.
Indeed. Different market ...
The problem is, that you have only two options: recommend or not recommend.
I can think of multiple reasons why I would play a game for several hours (maybe even dozens of hours) and still get to the conclusion to not recommend the game to others.
The price can be too high for what is offered
The developer could have moved on and is not fixing bugs and glitches anymore
Endgame is lacking
Payed DLC was introduced, splitting the playerbase ...
... debatable.
I don't think it'll be a fad, but I wouldn't go for the first iteration of headsets either. Too early to invest imo.
On another note: Preordering this is totally fine, since you can return it easily, if you don't like it. Games are a different story, though.
... and the support class as well. Just kill yourself to replenish ammo. Spawntimes are ridiculous low anyway.
The teamplay mechanics are definitly a step back from BF4 ... not to mention the horrible (mini)map. I found the one in BF4 allready not too well made - but now I miss it.
Not only the mini map, but also the big one.
It's nearly impossible to coordinate a squad or make informed desicions as SL.
You are not. Especially the classes, conquest mode and general weapon balancing needs fixing imo.
As it stands, there is not much teamplay present. On the technical side I have no complaints: looks and sounds nice.
seriously?
