But this is my argument. Microsoft have not shown anything revolutionary with the Kinect 2.0. They are harping on about how it is integral, and how much of a 'breakthrough' it is. But name me one game, or one application that demonstrates this 'Breakthrough'?
Which of their launch games, or launch line up demonstrates the why Kinect needs to be integral?
To collect marketing data isn't it? Why else is it mandatory? Oh wait for all the 'TV stuff' you can do with it?
Yeah sure. Microsoft discovered a Trojan Horse, and have been harping on about it since. Once it's in your living room, and you click the "agree" button to the EULA, there will be no going back then.
As for it being any kind of breakthrough, where are the 'breackthrough' games that utilise Kinect 2.0. Heck what are...
I will be really disappointed with Sony if they don't get PS4 compatibility with the Pulse Elite headset by launch. For them touting the social aspects of the PS4, it's a major oversight not to support their own hardware.
No. It's an add-on. A very good, add-on, but an add-on none-the-less.
@AliTheSNake
From you comment I can deduce a few things about you
1) You are young and immature
2) You started gaming this gen
3) Maths is not your strong point
4) You lack common sense
FACT: There are more homes with PC's than there homes with consoles.
Consider this: every home that has an Xbox or Playstation, most likely also has a PC (or laptop). So at the very least, there are as many homes wi...
The only thing I don't like is that some games can seemingly go on for hours. I think DICE should set a max time limit, like 45mins or something like that.
Very good tips, especially the one about "If you're carrying the bomb, do not under any circumstances enter the water or try to swim. " It just turns into a blood bath (pun intended).
Yeah, pretty much. PC has a much larger install base than consoles. Given the world-record breaking success of GTA V, it would be utter foolishness for Take-2 not to release it on PC.
This also makes a next-gen port extremely likely.
@xHeavyx
Yeah, the headset will work for audio, but not for chat. Sony will be releasing a patch to include the chat functionality.
I just can't understand how Sony are not supporting their own product straight out of the gate?
I've got a Pulse Elite, and I have to say Sony have supported it very well Custom setting for Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us, and now GTA V. Although, Sony have confirmed compatibility with PS4, I can't see why it's not supported at lauch?
I hope it doesn't turn out like the whole "cross-game-chat" fiasco on the PS3 though!
BF4 is sounding solid, and I have to say that I'm looking forward to it much more than COD:Ghosts. Mind you, I haven't really heard much PR from COD:Ghosts lately, they seem to have gone dark; while every site seems to be carrying PR for BF4. I got BF4 PS3 & PS4 on pre-order. Thanks for the option to upgrade DICE, it's a great move.
October is shaping p to be the most crammed month games, I wonder if it's because next gen starts in November?
Exactly. I don't know why team mates get the bomb and start moving towards their own base to get away from the attackers. Once you drop the bomb in your own base, it's easy for the attackers to pick it up and get a quick score in you bases.
It's live on PS3 as well. You need to go into the server list, and set your search filter to 'Obliteration'. THe list of game servers will then show up . Don't go through 'Quick Match', as it's not one of the 2 default modes (Conquest & Domination)
Is that an admission of defeat? It is true that failure is not to be feared. No one ever learned to walk by never falling. I'm sure Nintendo have got the funds to be able to wipe off the whole Wii U investment, and start again with a 'proper' next-gen console.
@denawayne
The intelligent, informed, gaming consumers have decided for themselves. They have chosen the PS4.
Sheep you say... why are you defending Microsoft again?
baaaa...
I'm going to stay as far away from the XbOne and Kinect as I can. Microsoft have all this negative press, that has not stopped since the XbOne was announced. THey make U-turn here, and 180 there, but the negative issues still keep on coming.
I know that if I get an XbOne, I will get burned somehow, someway, I just know it. I'm not going to trust Microsoft with my money.
I agree with the author. This is a Beta, so if you jump in expecting it to play like a demo for a full retail game, then you will be sorely disappointed. It is a Beta which means it will have bugs, glitches, and server lag/connection issues etc.
When you encounter these issues, as a Beta tester it is your job to then report these to DICE, so they can get note the issues and fix them before release. If you don't report the problems to DICE, then you do everybody a disservi...
Read the article, I actually agree with the guy. It is a Beta and not a demo. So I you jump into the BF4 Beta expecting anything less than bugs, glitches, server problems. Then you will be dissapointed.
Similarly if you jump in and don't do the job of reporting said bugs and glitches to DICE, then you are doing everybody a disservice, cos those problems will take longer to get noticed and fixed.
If you are a person as described, then it is best to wait f...
@Drewidian
To each his own. But you have to face certain facts when making your decision. Of all that you have said, you have not shown anything about the XbOne that warrants it's price tag for you and yours. The functionality that you are looking for you can get for free on a host of other devices.
Skype, and group Skype are free on a PC, Laptop, Tablet, Mobile phone etc etc. Netflix, Hulu, 4OD, Film4, ESN, etc etc etc are again all free on a host of other platfo...
