Thank you for posting this, I've just pre-ordered the PS3 version.
I was waiting on Amazon to enable shipping abroad for this game, I really want that art book.
AC: Black Flag and Battlefield 4 will be released on October 29th, with CoD: Ghosts on November 5th, followed by Watch Dogs on November 19th.
Those are the biggest titles per year, enough reason for the console to be out late October or early November.
IIRC games are released on Tuesdays in the US, for Europe it's Fridays. October 29th is a Tuesday.
Aesthetics mainly at this point and legal protection.
As for the GPU we won't know until the system is released or someone leaking such information that works at the assembly plant.
In-production sounds about right, October/November release is happening.
They'll try and 1-up Microsoft and get the system out before Black Friday, that much I'm sure of.
Great read, especially for gamers it gives a good view of what goes on, how these guys struggle and only gives you more respect for them.
Whatever the case it should make for a great holiday.
Hopefully the generation after next won't last as long as the current.
You tell me: http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
Seems to be happening in some regions, while others report not noticing any such behavior.
The guy is really cool, very pleasant voice.
I listen to him recently on GiantBomb podcast where he shared some interesting things.

It is most likely, this is just some guy (like many contributors on Forbes that lack knowledge about anything gaming related).
@ Zeal
Let me put it this way, if customers shop at GameStop they'll know about the whole DRM/online check thing.
If they shop at Amazon or Best Buy they'll be facing heavier promotion for PS4.
It's related to used games / less income...
Shuhei Yoshida did said to be excited for TGS, I'm pretty sure The Last Guardian will make it's re-reveal there [PS4].
SCE Japan Studio itself has a handful of studios within the organization, I'd like them to bring the house down this generation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
PS2 glory days...yeah baby yeah!
It's very apparent in the PS4's design and their mentality, let TGS/GamesCom come already.

It does indeed.... http://www.youtube.com/watc...
All the stars are aligned for PlayStation it seems...
A lot of people are going to be happy this holiday.
The Witcher 3 demo they showed supports this article, watch the video in 1080p.
I have Witcher 2: AoKEE (fully maxed out)and it doesn't look anything like the details found in the Witcher's 3 demo.

Not to mention that YT videos are compressed making them look crappier than they are.
Prepare for a wake up call...
It did (at the time of posting):

Got a 1-year subscription some hours ago, there were like 10+ Instant Game Collection (IGC) I could download and play.
In other words Plus paid for itself, those 10+ games are well worth 200-500 USD.
That's without counting all the discounts, full-game trials, early Beta access and whatever else I'm forgetting.
SEN auction house :)
It can be very cool, if implemented well.
More choices for the consumer as well, there's a social aspect to it also.
Looking forward to see what/if they do something with this.
Isn't it fun to watch how all these companies are having a fit?
That's what happen when you try to screw your customers over, stuff backfires.
FPS games, usually require server rental --> 20-40 USD per month.
If you're not the one renting then you can bet someone else is paying for it.
The so-called free-2-play games make even more money than subscription models, my point is that if something is good or worth it enough people will pay.
That's the vision Sony has, improving their service.
Will it actually be better with all the bells and whistles?...time will tell.
