Great read and the AMD rep handled the questions professionally...as one should.

7850 - 7870 // GTX 660 - GTX 660Ti
I gotta laugh at nVidia for making such a "comparison".

I'd like to point a few things out, UE4 isn't optimized for consoles yet and definitely not in this demo.
Just as UE3 wasn't during the early stages of the PS3 (happen later on during the console life cycle).

Of course the PS4 GPU won't out match a GTX 680 but it will come very close.

Quote from John Carmack: "Consoles run 2x or so better than equal PC hardware".
PS4 GPU is somewhere between 7850 - 7870 / GTX 660/660T...

I can only hope more developers move away from using UE in favor CryEngine 3 or proprietary ones.
UE is meant to be scalable through all platforms and while it does look good, it by no means look as good as proprietary ones.

The comparison below is better than the one in this article.

More like gamers should expand their horizon and try different types of games instead of just shooters.
Let's say there are 200 million gamers in total across all platforms, then 3.4 million copies is just a fraction of the total user base.

Without our support there won't be any new/innovative games as developers will fear to take risks.

There's also this:

New about this is that Capcom decided to develop Deep Down into it's first PS4 title (info March 27th).
Not sure if anyone posted it yet.
Point being you can clearly see that UE4 is not optimized when compared to Panta Rhei/Luminous Studio.

"Yu Suzuki, the man behind Shenmue and many of Sega’s golden age coin-ops, has said he wants to buy the license for the game from Sega and make his own sequel to the cult series."

It could very well happen, even if it's a rumor right now.
My point being is that YS has been vocal about wanting ...

The two gentlemen are close friends so far I know, so it wouldn't come as a surprise if Shenmue 3 ends up being a PS4 exclusive.

Whichever way you look at the PS4, it's all good so far.
Be it for gamers or developers and the titles keep popping up.

Well there's some truth to that isn't there?
As far as PS4 is concerned, Sony won't ship the final dev-kit until this summer.
I'm taking a wild guess here, but most likely it's the same for Durango as well..
Until then they have to work with what they have....which is Alpha hardware.

PS4 GPU is between 7850 - 7870, Xbox720 is 7770.
For the rest......troll on! /sarcasm

"Gaming Evolved" thing from AMD, they are pushing more and more to be involved with big releases.
It's a good thing really as their GPU drivers are optimized time and time again to give more/better performance.
Plus those games usually end up being bundled with their GPU's, which is win/win for both AMD/developers.

It's due to the changes Sony made recently, so this is pretty much only the beginning.

- All the PS4 streaming and sharing: that’s on the hardware. Devs don’t have to do anything special to their game.
- PS4 Remote Play: Screens are mirrored on PS4/Vita (Both on at same time). Hardware does it/not on devs. Start at any time; no special mode.

So freaking brilliant, devs can't make excuses, saves cost, efficient...damn!

Which means (at least that's what I think) that there will be more space for the touch-pad on the final design as they'll combine Start/Select into 1.

It's a good choice really and "Options" makes more sense, they can have all the quick links under that.

Such as PSN store/send PM etc etc...

I don't think it would feel pleasant that way when using the joy-pad for fighting games.
At least not for me, I like the current layout.

Keep in mind it's still prototype hardware, PS4 won't go into production until August.
So the final retail version will look even more polished.

"Sony notes that these are simply "mock-ups" with the usual caveat that elements could change."

The touch-pad is really handy and I can see it being used in a lot of ways.

Xbox 720 release September 17th....if the rumors are to be believed.
Might be far fetched but the people on NeoGAF might be onto something.
As I'm reading more and more about that specific month (incl. GTA 5 delay).
