I think you should keep in mind that Guerrilla is working with a fairly untested rendering technique called deferred rendering/shading. This whole area is rather unexplored so they doesn't have much to go on here. They can't just open a book or google for universal solutions since there aren't any.

"no xbox fans read or care about this article..."
You obviously do.
They are old. However bare in mind that they first appeared in a presentation from Guerilla where they described in depth how there engine works in a rather technical way, hardly understandable by a layman. So it's fare to assume there are some peoples out there that have missed them.
Smaller distance = no need for big screen and huge speakers.
And the patch dilemma isn't exclusive for PC:s anymore.
You summed it up pretty nicely. Bubble for that.
While we're at it. Ban maps! They are clearly tools of terrorism.
I can admit it probably was a mistake not including in-game XMB in the first place. However they have never given an official release date for it so actually it hasn't been delayed. I'm confident they are working on it right now because the know how important it is for the customers.
You also need to bare in mind that this isn't something you can throw together in one night. They basically need to rewrite the whole OS. Patience is a virtue.
The in-game music feature in Super Stardust HD was a bit of a disappointment to me. It wasn't able to play the music from my connected mp3-player (a Sony) but the XMB was able to do it.
Fanboys/girls are despicable no mater breed.
@TheMART at Xboxkings:
"To the one below... BECAUSE IT'S THE TRUTH MAYBE??? It is pathetic Sony keeps delaying stuff they promissed from the start."
Judging by your avatar and user name I would say you don't own a PS3. So why the anger? You already have your XBOX360 equivalently to in-game XMB. Leave the worry of the PS3 shortcomings to the PS3 owners.
Isn't it funny how you are pissed of when some one bashes the 360 in a 360 related article, yet here you are doing the same on PS3 related articles.
I'd like to test that but not so sure it's practical to use in the long run.
First of all it's 1/3 (33.33333... and so one %), and second of all it's a third of the cells capacity. Sure you can but code handling graphics on the cell as well but since the rsx is built to handle graphics and the cell is a multipurpose cpu the rsx is more effective at handling graphical calculations meaning you have to balance how much of the graphical calculations you put on the cell.
Colour and contrast is a very important factor of how you perceive the texture quality.
Almost. Eu release is set to the 25:th.
I don't know about the ps3-version but I think the pc-version of UT3 looks better than the pc-version of Gears of War.
Looks aren't everything.
Actually HD isn't some form of standard. Wiki for instance defines it as "...[HD]generally refers to any video system of higher resolution than standard-definition (SD) video...".

Actually even the source on an Blu-Ray disc or HD DVD is compressed. There is no way to fit all the information on a 35mm film (don't even bother with 70mm) on today's optical storages.

Anyone know what bitrates for DTS VOB supports?
As long as my storage capacity and my connection speed can't handle 50 GB movies I'll stay do the discs. And it will probably stay that way for a long time.
