This is sound advice. If VR truly is the future and truly will be a standard device, a staple in every gamers room then surely waiting a year or two means little to nothing in the big scheme of things.
Save your money. See which of the big three emerges top dog. See what big houses signs on to which device. By then you'll be able to make a good investment at a more reasonable price... OR if this all fails you can buy a used one at a fraction of the price.
It doesn't really seem like a real gaming focused accessory. It will be used for gaming but it's so much more. It sounds like you require a 15sq ft room to set it up. That's a deal breaker.
What can they "enhance" in a beautiful still very new game? Perhaps it's a game of the year version?
It's so far out. This industry changes rapidly.
Sony owns the trademark. That's all you need to know.
Preordering is almost never a good idea. It has led developers to the point where its common practice to release unfinished products. I've never seen so many launch day issues than in the past five years or so. There was a time when games had hardly any issues on launch day because they invested in testing and delayed where necessary. Not anymore when you have a bunch of game eager to pay month in advance for a game they don't really know that much about.
Considering PS4 is historical a juggernaut on the level of PS2, I could see many PS4 games being released into the 2020's. Especially when you consider its next big accessories, which has external processing, is coming out this year of 2016. PSVR may essentially be their next console in a way...
Nintendo's home consoles are all geared around playing with others. They have some of the best party franchises. This isn't happening, Dir.
Oh, I see what you're doing there. The only "next gen" system is PC. If the past is any indication then Nintendo will cheap out on the hardware and their console power will be comparable to PS4 and XB1.Sorry but that's current gen tech. Wii U tech was barely stronger than Xbox 360,it was more of a tweener than officially next gen. Hence no one bought it.
Yes it is probably to late if it's what most suspect it is. The NX had to be able to trump PS4 and XB1 in tech and come in competively priced in order to have any shot. The only people who Nintendo have for sure are those who made the mistake of getting a Wii U. Beyond that most people will be the late adopters and some of those may be seduced by PSVR.
Is it possible for Nintendo to make something happen? Of course but they need to do everything right. Else, the NX is no...
Half their base would probably be kids and college students. Mommy and Daddy are gonna be tough sales for this thing, especially after Xmas and in a poor economy. Who has this kind of money to toss around on new age Virtual Boy? I kid but this has Virtual Boy written all over it at this price.
To get people to buy in they're gonna need to bundle multiple games at that price. Even then it's a tough sale.
Dont worry, you can always import. Not to mention at the price most people probably won't buy until 2017...
As soon as I read the headline the exact same phrase came to mind.
The better question is why WOULD SF5 come to arcade? This isn't 1994.
Who wants to pump dozens of dollars into a coin op when they can OWN the game and have a similar or better experience at home with friends?
If you're a company wanting to stay afloat then you need a fanbase. Those they're trying to sell to won't adopt at this price level. A TV is a lot bigger and can be shared with others. A TV is the centrepiece of a modern living room. A VR headset is going to be something excluding that you do off by yourself. The value will not be perceived the same.
If Sony and HTC can enter the market at $400 then it's game over.
If it's such a great deal then clearly the tech is not ready for the market. As tech evolves it becomes cheaper to manufacture and so this one should be put back to bed. The market will not adopt at this price.
Further, gamers shouldn't be offended by the price but they should be disappointed because this was hyped so much.
If the price worries you went do you then why do you feel it doesn't worry the general fan base who will decide whether to purchase?
My favourite character is the one with the large breasts. I like her personality.
Very cool.
Dont mean to sound sexist but are you able to choose a male protagonist as well?
