VR most certainly DOE'S NOT take world by storm at a $599 USD price point. You can't even use it without the right gear.
I don't know if this influences Sony too much. They're mostly selling to gamers of completely different ecosystems.
Most aren't choosing one or the other, they're choosing yes or no.
Muzak guy,
I disagree. For example the PSP, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 all got cracked yet it certainly DID NOT impact the price of games.
PC games will always offer more value unless someone locks down the whole ecosystem under one umbrella(ex:PSN, XB Live, etc). Not happening.
Piracy is never a positive thing.
I think it would be great to take out the whole "modern dude experiencing the past in a fancy recliner" deal. If that's what they're doing and just telling the story of someone in the past then great. I mean isn't it a little redundant otherwise? (we're all modern dudes in recliners experiencing a modern dude in a recliner experiencing the past.)
It better be a game changer because a lot of companies will be launching game changers this year.
There's a PC mod that's been out for sometime which turns off the collision detection of objects while building. What this allows for is the placement of objects anywhere. Essentially there is already a way to level terrain on PC and I'm sure that it's coming to consoles too eventually.
One thing I hate is that if you place a foundation on a bush, the bush comes through the foundation. Same thing with tall grass...
I have a PS4 for Sony's offering. I have a fancy PC ready for anything Microsoft is going to offer. This is actually exciting.
I own a PS4 and I don't own a XB1 but the fanboy bulls shit about this console is better than that one or my console sells more than yours is a stupid waste of time.
The best case scenario is to have a bunch of healthy consoles because it pushes companies to do more. I think the XB1 is in a healthy spot and they don't need to be neck and neck with PS4 for it to push Sony onwards in trying to stay ahead. I say come on with in Microsoft, make the come back because it...
Unless this new Nintendo is VR or augmented reality and comes with more horsepower than the PS4 and XB1 I really have no clue why anyone would shell out $400-500 on a console from a company who dropped the ball last time out of the gate.
Just watched a video. The game looks... Odd.
I'm neutral on it. It's their job to talk the game up.
The time to place you on 'ignore' is now.
Good effort.
Gosh its been so long that I almost need to replay the games again now to remember what's going on.
Detox420, I fail to see the connection between intelligence and stealing intellectual property. Do you also eat by stealing groceries? Wipe your ass with stolen toilet paper maybe? I think the intelligent move is to purchase the games honestly because you understand that in stealing what you love you become a parasite to it; a deteriment to its health and potentially a risk to its life.
If everyone was as "intelligent" as you gaming would die. By stealing you hold...
That's a very mature stance. Game on brother, whatever makes you happy. We all game for ourselves after all.
I have a PS4 and a PC. I only buy games on sale so I invest a little time on looking for deals. On PC unless I REALLY want the game right away I won't buy anything for more than 75% off because I know I can/will get whatever game I want for that discount if I don't mind waiting a little after launch. On PSN what is considered a "good sale" typically features games sold for 20-30% off. There is no comparison and if you don't believe me then start visiting isthereanydeal.c...
I will elaborate on the "etc etc etc".
You know it's popular on consoles right now to release remastered versions of games at full retail price? It's cool because it allows new gamers to the series, and old, a complete package with enhanced graphics.
Well on PC most games have mods which overhaul graphics, offering an enhanced versions for nothing if you already own the game or a couple bucks of you don't own the game. It is so great th...
I bought Fallout 4, plus season pass just prior to launch for the same price as I would have paid for just the regular game on PS4 or XB1.
Neoandrew, what you say is only good for those who have the luxury of allocating almost all their time to gaming. Reality is that most of us can't and won't do that.
I'll also note that if you don't mind waiting three to six months you can find new games marked down 75-80% on PC.
*Mandit...
I'm waiting on purchasing one.
I want to see who has the best tech, and games in the pipeline. I also want to wait and see that his is a trend and not a fad.
Outside_ofthe_Box,
These younger gamers need to read up on all the high priced console add ons of the past which failed.
