Going to be a great year!
It still is huge, it's just huge in a different way, I think. The story is still massive.
85 is a bad score now? smh.
Well, there's not many reviews yet, so the meta will move around a lot early on. I think come March when all the English reviews are out it'll sit in the 85-90 range. While I didn't write this review, there was a lot of debate between the RPGSite staff who had played FF13 as to if this was an 85 or a little bit more than that.

I think as far as Square is concerned they believe (correctly) that the hardcore FF fans are going to buy the games anyway, so they're instead focusing all their efforts on making the game accessable and playable by a wider audience.
It works for sales, but the problem is hardcore fans see this as "dumbing down" the game for a non-fan audience. I love the game, though after spending hours and hours with it and completing it twice I wish it were less linear.
And truly deserving of that fact; what a game.
Despite submitting this, this is not my writing... but I just want to say I agree with it 110%. Spot on. Some flaws but overall real, real fun.
RE Nuri: More revenue is always good. Square Enix Japan sent me my copy direct. :)
Because FF10 sold 63% of ALL ITS COPIES SOLD EVER on the first day.
FF12 was 64%. Thus, you can infer from first day sales what the first week sales will be.
You can put Lightning in 'shooter' mode, at least. Maybe that'll confuse some people. :p
The postage is about 10 dollars more, but there should be no invoice!
