How hard can it be to release one set of decent screens?
Disaster after disaster.
It's a mulitplatform site, they just have sub-sections. xbox360.rpgsite.net, ps3.rpgsite.net, wii.rpgsite.net etc.
I think Inferior is a bit of a strong word, but... more or less. Yeah.
Agree 100%... FFs should be an enclosed story.
Give me the whole game on one disc please. Or three discs, as the case may be!
It has the same kind of attitude to battles - that they should be faster, more like an action game - that FF13 has. Comes off really interestingly. Story is okay but... it does feel like it could go off the rails at any moment. This is tri-Ace after all.
It's notorious for having good space usage but most of all it's used by gaming companies because it has a really low CPU load. That's the selling point of Bink - they can use it without hitting on actual game performance at all; the game can cue things up and run operations in the background whilst Bink is decoding... that kind of stuff.

Faster, less CPU load, smaller file sizes. Slightly lower quality as a result, but overall far more cost and space efficient.
720. In reality it makes no difference. The cutscenes are 1080 on PS3, but when the game runs in 720... you're looking at the game most of the time.
Bink definitely isn't used in the PS3 version at all. It's not on the back of the Japanese or US PS3 box (and Bink license requires it is listed on the back of the box) and it's not in the Japanese credits. Not used.
It's noteworthy as it just confirms the quality (720p) and compression type for the 360 version. The PS3 version is uncompressed.
It was, but Bink does technologies for just about everything - Wii, 360, PS2, Dreamcast... it does them for tons of hardware, gaming and otherwise. So it's not like FF13 360 is going to have Dreamcast quality compression or anything. It'll still be 720p and look good, I imagine.
A lot of devs use Bink so it must be pretty good. Mass Effect uses it to great effect, same for Borderlands with the few cutscenes there. That said, 720 compressed isn't much on 1080 uncompressed...
Real amazing looking game. Can't wait to get the full version...
Literally an amazing game. So incredible words can't describe. Well, they kind of do in the review, but you know what I mean. It's GOOD.
Bet it'll be expensive.
I've been playing; sidequests greatly improved!
Just want to say this dude is awesome. Really fun to interview.
For the record, as the owner of that site, the IP of ALL those comments is the same. If the N4G mods want it to compare, they can PM me.
