I thought they released the Pro to push 4K... Not sure that many people will be buying 8K TV sets within 3 years. There comes a point of diminishing returns...
I think seeing how Sony supports their consoles to the very end of their cycle makes me want to get PS5 day one even more. Like you said we'll get the most out of our investment!
Oh well that's part of the fun; enjoy the games coming out now and get hyped for future games all at the same time!
This already looks great on current gen and besides being compatible there is no guarantee it'll look much better on PS5. When I get a PS5 I want next gen games.
Ugh everytime I see Bethesda I'm like damn it's probably at least another 3 years before we hear more about TES6... And then I remember Fallout 76 and I feel even more depressed.
I like it best like Bethesda did it (back when it was still making good games) announce around E3 and release the following holiday of the same year.

The Vignette effect is way too strong though but that might be better in game. I wish they could have shown gameplay instead of CGI yesterday but oh well... Maybe at Xbox event in a few days?
Only time will tell but I guess they could... I mean it's a different engine but Watch Dogs Legion will have it and it releases in 2020 (I think it uses Disrupt engine). Since both engines are developed in house and Far Cry 6 releases later I would hope they would have time to implement some kind of ray tracing but I would expect performance to take a serious hit... Ubisoft arent exactly known for optimizing games well.
...even Smash Bros was more of an enhanced re-release than a brand new AAA title developped from the ground up.
Your point still stands but the Switch Yoshi Crafted World game is not the same as Wooly World on the Wii U... But yeah you are still 100% right Nintendo has been so lazy with Switch just re-releasing everything from Wii U. I understand most people didnt own a Wii U but it is still kind of a slap in the face of their faithful followers such as you.
Note: Mario Odyssey was also awesome and not on Wii U if you didnt get to play it I highly recommend it.

I agree third party arent gonna ignore it giving its rapidly growing user base however I am hoping we get fewer "lesser" ports of otherwise better performing games and instead more games unique to the platform and better thought out to utilize its limited power.

A PS3 pro would have made zero sense. They had to go back to a more traditionnal architecture rather than produce a more powerful cell processor. It would have extended the PS3's life and delayed PS4 for no good reason. 720p on a 1080p TV is not so bad. Just like a 1440p PS4 pro on a 4K TV. I do believe however 8K TVs adoption will be slower and as such I agree with the author no need for PS5 pro in the foreseeable future.
I loved Skyrim but I am ready to move on, my next TES purchase will be TES6. Bring it on!!
Same here 😆 I've been using howlongtobeat.com and avoiding any game that takes more than 30 hrs to complete! It sucks because I used to love games like Skyrim but it gets frustrating when you know you'll never see the end... I might make an exception when TES6 comes out though I might take 2 years to finish it but I'll probably give it a shot.
Hopefully we get a direct soon... I heard rumors of July 20th.
