Probably... But I will own it on PS5 because for the minor visual difference I will respawn faster which makes the game more fun when you like to be challenged i.e. die more often.
The story in HZD was cringy at times I'll give you that. As far as innovation in art direction, story, gameplay however I thought HZD was/is GG's best work. Killzone has always appeared far more generic in a sea of FPSs and having owned both Xbox360/PS3 I always felt Halo was better in every way except graphics (and even then I prefered the art direction in Halo). Anyways all that to say I guess there are a lot of different opinions out there lol
Actually that resonates with me too. I loved TloU 1 even though I am not into that type of game normally the characters sucked me in. Meanwhile I think TloU 2 is a great game too but from the gameplay that I have seen they have brought the violence to a level of realism that is above my comfort zone. I can appreciate TloU is probably a great game but I do not wish to play it. Like you said something can be great even if its not your thing...
Having said that have you played...
I havent been able to find this anywhere but I imagine this wont work with voice actors? I always find the quality of sound recordings during conversation to be lackluster especually in open worlds with varying environments. RDR2 handled this neatly with dual recordings with a near/far conversation but it still sounds very studio like...
Solid video as always :) however like they said themselves hard to know if lighting will be the same in game vs cutscenes like shown with secondary light source
@harmny I understand the technical challenges but its still doable. Even Skyrim does it very well actually. Either way it's all good it's entirely up to the devs and the rest of us dont have to buy the game if we think it's a big deal.
Even free, who wants to play garbage? My free time is scarce enough as it is I havent played Rise of the Tomb Raider though.
"Any other FPS" well it ain't like COD thats for sure lol. I must admit though I am disappointed they dont have at least the option to switch to 3rd person like GTAV/RDR2.
In my experience these CD projekt games are complex and well crafted games that require some time invested in them until they start growing on you. I think a lot of the hype comes from how good The Witcher 3 was for many gamers combined with the fresh take on Cyberpunk but I am not that hyped myself just cautiously optimistic.
I really hope so! Bethesda I can live without all I care about is TES VI and I am sure that is still a long way off. I just hope they dont ruin that franchise like Fallout with Fallout 76.
Maybe 3rd party otherwise 1st party I am skeptical they would allow RT to be turned off... Games nowadays are developped with more traditionnal reflections in mind so turning RT on/off is a no brainer however if I game was developped for a closed platform it would seem like extra work. I am hoping for a simpler approach to FPS like say resolution like allowing a 4K game to be played at 1440p or 1080p with higher framerates.
Not a huge fan of the PS5 design and colour but what matters to me is that is stays quiet and cool... And a comfortable controller. The rest isnt that important.
Most of those compagnies have already made decent presentations, Ubisoft is scheduled to present next week... But I wish Nintendo (and maybe Bethesda) were presentating new games!
N4G is saturated with very narrow minded Sony fanboys sadly
I was with PS all the way this gen and never looked back although coming from Xbox 360 last gen. I wont pretend I like everything Sony does but 1st party exclusives have been far more appealing on the Sony side IMHO. I agree that the netflix like approach at 10$ / mo with day one 1st party access sounds appealing but personally I found there were very few games I would have wanted to play. Its a matter of personnal taste but I find Microsoft has been focusing on MP vs Sony has been releasing ...
Could be neat to for live streaming directly from console (not that I would ever us that). What I miss though is some good old fashion splitscreem local coop. There are still a few odd gems but they are rather scarce.
I really enjoyed the beatemups review on youtube. Wood is a really nice guy. He finds something to like about just every other game out there. He did have some fair criticism of this game but I think he handled it like a champ. Angry joe on the other hand is gonna rip this game apart lmao but that's his trademark. But I otherwise agree with you I have seen youtubers essentially releasing daily videos criticizing the game and they have so few things to say it makes me wonder if they actual...
Most of these scores dont qualify for metacritic though... Meanwhile anybody can pretend to have played the game and give it a userscore. I think metacritic should be more inclusive of critic reviews and more selective of user reviews (a simple verification of game ownership via PSN user should be easy enough).
Agreed. Should be simple and effective
I'm glad they are focusing on Switch. It stands in a class of its own and first party games are stellar although I am eager to see what else they have in store beyond Paper Mario
