This is just one piece in the "Media is suckling the Microsoft power teet" puzzle.
Let's take the following article:

360 apparently one-upped Sony. Their three main points?
1. Natal
2. Rock Band Beatles
3. MGS: R "stolen exclusive"
Natal is a glorified eye toy. And MS can blabber on ...
If your definition of "stealing" MGS is getting a multiplatform spinoff game, then you're easily impressed.
The only people to claim crap like "Microsoft stole the show" are people who don't understand the gaming industry at all and just want to suckle the MS power teet.
This is almost as bad as the Gamepro article that declared Microsoft the slight winner even though half of the "good" games they listed were multiplatform.
Going first appears to have paid off for Microsoft, since it's confused enough idiots into thinking that MGS:R is a) Exclusive and...
I don't understand that CNET article.
They declare MS the winner and list off their exclusives. They then follow it by saying Sony didn't keep up...and THEN passingly mention Sony's exclusives.
NEWSFLASH TO THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA:
MGS: Rising is a spinoff--not really a true sequel--and, more importantly, is MULTIPLATFORM.
Hey Dread,
Kojima's not making Rising.
Well, if my actions are at all indicative of Sony-fans as a whole, PSP is gonna be taking off soon.
I've gone a while w/o really wanting a PSP. I've had a PSX, PS2, and PS3. But I was never really interested in the PSP until yesterday.
So last night I went out and got myself a PSP w/ God of War: CoO, Crisis Core:FF7, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, and Parappa (I just love that stupid game haha).
Sony' re-investment in PSP might just pay off.
Question:
If a game like this goes multiplatform, are they interconnected?
Do the various versions of FFXI link up, or are they separate?
If they link, I'd rather see this on every console.
Drew--
Kinda like how Xbox owners claim MGS is no big deal, and then beg for an MGS4 port? And brag when they think they have MGS:R exclusively?
Look, I'm sticking by what I said: I'm still not that excited about Rising. I'll prob play it just because it's MGS, but I'm more excited about Peace Walker. It was hard to watch Kojima take repeated shots at Rising and still be excited about it.
As a PS3 owner, I'm mildly happy that I'll have a chance to playing Rising on my system.
That said, I'm sticking by what I said yesterday: Kojima doesn't really seem to be into the whole idea of Rising, so I can't be TOO excited. I did, however, buy a PSP yesterday. haha
Baka--
They "ditched' Nintendo after Nintendo ditched the idea for a cd-based system. Square knew they wanted cd so they could usher in 3d rpg gaming and FMV sequences. It was only after Nintendo went back on their word to develop a cd system did Square move on.
Interesting, it was Sony that was partnering with Nintendo on a cd system. And when that folder, Sony released the Playstation.
Apoc--I really think you're wrong here.
He made a point MULTIPLE TIMES to address the fact that MGS:PW is a true part of the MGS series and not a spinoff. And he produced a video in the tradition of the other MGS releases.
And finally, this recently revealed part of the Famitsu interview regarding MGS Rising:
"Kojima: I won't say "please release this", but if it's going to be released I guess there's nothing I can do. "
...
My money is on Twisted Metal PS3.
After Kojima's comments today, I'm not even sure if I care about MGS:R being on the PS3.
He made it abundantly clear the MGS:Peace Walker is a TRUE sequel/prequel to the MGS series. He said he would be writing the script, and that the MGS4 team would be working on it too. He made a point to specifically say that it's not a spinoff--hinting at his displeasure that MGS:R even exists. I guess those comments about him not fully supporting MGS:R from yesterday are true.
...
Hahaha. Kojima wants nothing to do with MGS: Rising.
Though I'm not gonna lie...I still hope I can play it on my PS3.
If you watched Kojima at the PS conference, it was abundantly clear that MGS: PW is a true sequel. MGS: R is a spinoff that Kojima does not fully support.
He'll be working on peace walker.
Hahaha. Kojima wants nothing to do with MGS: Rising.
Though I'm not gonna lie...I still hope I can play it on my PS3.

Maybe he thinks if he says it enough, it'll be true.
Too bad developers like THQ don't agree with him.
I'm a PS3 guy, but:
If the only MGS-related announcement for Sony tomorrow is a PSP game, the PS3 is in trouble. Even more.
Does anyone else get the feeling that Kojima will be announcing a SECOND game tomorrow during the PS3 conference?
After all, nothing in his speech today shed light on that would-be Big Boss picture from the magazine/teaser site.
We all know Kojima likes to mess with us--why not announce TWO games at E3?
Especially with all the mystery surrounding the "Is it exclusive? Is it not? What's going on?" business, I get the feeling there's something e...
