not sure if it is definitely the case but i heard the xbox 360 version of pes takes up 7 gig and i know for sure that the ea fifa 2007 version for the ps2 takes up ~4gig. so pes7 for ps3 taking up more than dvd9 capacity is not impossible - in fact it is highly likely. like i said earlier, more space needed for mapping every player, stadiums and commentary.
in fact according to wikipedia these are the features missing in the xbox 360 pes 6 version - which is quite a lot if you...
3x better seems a bit exaggerated but i think blu-ray will enable better player textures, motion capture, stadiums and commentary. bear in mind that xbox360 pro6 apparently takes up 7gig and it was acknowledged by most xbox360 owners to be quite poor (offering less stadiums than even the ps2 version). 18 gig for next gen with all the stadia might not seem so outlandish. so capacity is important but doubtful as to whether the ps3 will be 3x better.
also it's a rumor so take ...
err.. what is the point of this article?
just got two of these puppies.. think it should be capable of running unreal above minimum spec somehow..
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zot...
i paid 130 pounds for it when amazon mispriced it. not sure whther they will honor it though.
not really news. waste of time clinking on link since it doesn't really say anything that you could consider as news.
i am pretty sure it will be delayed. this would be disappointing but i hope the wait would be worth it. i hope the other titles don't slip because, rather obviously, sony can't afford any more AAA titls from slipping beyond 2007.
who do you believe? someone who claims to be an EA developer (is this really a good believable source?) or Gerhard Florin, EA Boss who says quite recently at the end of LAST month:
"Something like Harry Potter is a very clear candidate to lead on the Wii," offered Florin.
"Shooters like Medal of Honor, Black, we will clearly concentrate on PlayStation 3 because we need Cell processor power."
"Then we've got more strategic, ...
i am most interested in this comment from article:
"Developers can now choose to support the Remote Play functionality (which allows players to play their PS3 titles on their local wireless LAN using their PSP. Remote Play requires 8MB of memory to be allocated to it. "
okay we probably already know this but when the heck are developers planning to use this function?? surely if it is already built into the os then it makes sense to integrate into the game.....
deep , i will lend you my ps3 if you give me some of your bubbles.. you know, fanboys are a sensitive lot - i just have to say their console sucks and i lose a bubble..
you should read the article though before you comment since the article does make a point of the fact that the xbox has a better gpu but it also goes on to say... hmm.. why don't you read it.
this was actually originally posted in an xbox forum so didn't come from the ps3forum.
i actually own a ps3 and right now i think there is little to choose between the two consoles. for the future i do think that having the blu-ray and hd is an advantage - almost as much as having the cells assist the gpu. for example, when more developers start using the cell in combination with hd streaming - which can require loads of storage as well as hard disk caching facilities you sho...
don't forget that the ps3 can take advantage of running modules/programs off the hard disk without having to store them in memory (perfect example is home which is expected to take up 600 mb). hence, you could say that the os in the ps3 has few capacity constraints even if the actual memory allocation is around 80mb. don't need to be a tech guru to appreciate the benefits of every sku having a hard disk.
yep apparently it can't be done on the ps3 because some french guy said "it can't be done the on ps3"
apparently alot of wii sold in japan also going to china and other far east countries.. it's amazing nontheless.. only thing more popular than the ds in japan is probably sushi rice and enema bars
apparently this can't be done on a ps3.
flamewar please.... lets try too make this a 100+ post flamewar
EDIT: man i lost a bubble for this joke. it took me ages (months of toil on n4g) to get that extra bubble now i only got five bubbles. this sucks. to the person who took away my precious bubble: how can you sleep at night.. lol
"People talk about MS ripping off the customers but Sony is the mother of all corporations that rip off their customers, but so many people on here are too uneducated or old enough to know anything about that" - cdawson
but don't you own an ps3?? hmm. the wheel is spinning but the hamster is dead.
i ain't the smartest guy in the world since i bought from the mother of rip-off corporation but it seems like you already know that sony is the mother of rip ...
bubble for you but i think you are better off creating a new profile (past redemption)
not necessarily bad news for the consumer since there will be one uniform format that covers every movie/programming. one format will also help the market to grow as consumers become confident in investing in the right product. a mass market will create greater competition between manufacturers and economies of scale. analogy is the dvd market.
universal is the one significant thing keeping hd-dvd alive.. signicantly, if universal folds then this might help the large retailers to support blu-ray since there is little economic sense in doubling the amount of retail space just to sell the same library.
you are one ugly baby
