People need to understand that these new "consoles" are essentially like gaming laptops: you can't upgrade them like you can a desktop PC, but the games are still the same. PC games patches work exactly the same, and are often just as big...just compressed, for download. Unlike Sony, MS has always used uncompressed patches, that are essentially ready to go as soon as they finish downloading. The 360 is MUCH better in that department than PS3...it's not even close...for bo...
@ Godmars290
But it was OK when everyone did exactly that to MS...and continue to criticize and mock them, even when they listen and make improvements/changes. Funny how that works...
Fact is, the "old" Sony (pre-PS3 launch) is beginning to rear it's ugly head, and it's clear that they thought exactly like the article's author does...especially the title. Their smug attitude towards fan outcry over missing games from E3,or missing/dela...
If it were MS instead of Valve, this would have blown up into an international story. Fact is, Valve and Steam have been going downhill for a few years now...classic case of "too big for their breeches" (and not just Gabe). The Steam Box probably has a lot to do with it as well, and I think Valve is making a huuuuuuge mistake not staying focused on games and catering to the fans that made them.
Simple fix: drop the instant switch option, and make it a menu option instead. It would be beyond stupid to let a completely unnecessary gimmick (redundant, I know) hamper the overall quality of the game.
Translation: "Stop being so homophobic, people!"
@ TheWaterCooler
erm, Halo 1 and 2 were released ONLY for Windows PC...which is, in FACT, a Microsoft platform.
Most of these mods shouldn't even be in the Top 20. And Falskaar will irreversably corrupt your game if you attempt to install the mod with anything other than a fresh game install....something the creator failed to disclose up front.
EDIT: Yes...whomever my dedicated "disagree" stalker is...go ahead and disagree with something of which you have ZERO knowledge. SMH...
"Anyone that came in on an interview, it didn't matter what the question was, I could always just answer it with $399. It was the answer to every question."
Typical Sony arrogance...
So, even though...as they pointed out in their pointless little video...Sam Lake CLEARLY stated when and where they'd be showing QB, they still label the game "suspiciously absent" from E3? SMH....what a bunch of f***ing morons.
Yikes....more like Playstation Not NOW Not EVER.
2020 would be the perfect year for the next gen of consoles, both timing-wise, and marketing-wise as well. Not only is it a historical landmark...and something we won't see again for 1000 years...but it also represents the beginning of our "future", as we see it. In movie, TV, books, etc, the "2020s" have long been perceived as a turning point in our technological and historical future. Also, by 2020 both memory and processing tech will be WAAAY beyond anything any...
Certain people refuse to believe it, but Sony is the same thing MS made a living out of all of last gen...and those certain people HATED and MOCKED them for it.
The Capcom of the 90s was "the best version".
I've got a "Special Offer" for Ubisoft: Stop being such a sh*tty publisher, and I'll think about pre-ordering your games, instead of buying them used.
Same goes for EA, and double for Activision.
EDIT: @ DragonKnight...
That kind of thinking is as bad as voter apathy. I'm just one person, but if more gamers followed the same thinking (I'm sure plenty do, whether they stay true to it or not), publishers and devs mi...
Are there women in skimpy bikinis? I'm only interested if there are women in skimpy bikinis....or kittens.
LOL....meanwhile, UE4 games are being made for the REAL next-gen platforms.
Devil's Turd belongs on the WiiU, since it was meant to be a last-gen game anyway.
What you did with the article's title....I saw it.
If you build it, they will come...and if they really enjoy it, they will come again. >_<
I remember way back last gen, when paying for timed exclusivity on content was laughed at and considered desperate. My how the times have changed...
If the game has truly been in development since 2011, then surely it's almost finished. Devs lose team members all the time toward the end of a dev cycle. I'd be more worried if it was in it's first year and this happened...or if the game had been in development hell, like The Last Guardian or Duke Nukem Forever, and suddenly key people started abandoning the project.
