Great, but this just confirms what anyone with even a little common sense already knew. Of course Microsoft built their own console to fully utilize their own API. So good to have official confirmation though, lets hope this puts and end to the idea that X1 will only see a small benefit from DX12.

Still so many choose to deny the benefit DX12 will have for X1. This is either ignorance or just denial. We've heard developers stating (Brad Wardell for example) that even consols are still only using one cpu core to feed the gpu at a time. And with DX12 all cores are shearing the load. How can this no be a huge benefit to Xbox? And that is just one aspect of DX12.

Now your talking this is real remote play, tablet size screen and a full X1 controller yes please!

Yeah this could have massive implications. I'm imagining playing Forza surrounded in the cockpit, or playing Halo with my weapon and hud right there in front of me this could be amazing.

Yeah and all the playstation fans are on the DX12 denial train, destination butt-hurt.

Yep getting pretty hyped for this event, and not just for the xbox stuff but also for win 10. Looks like there's some cool things coming to the platform. I'm also loving this NDA talk. I'm hoping for a DX12 demo or game on X1 so we can all see the true potential of this so called inferior console compared to PS4.

Christo you are on to it bro Always the top of the comments, anyway I think we'll possibly see xbox one gaming and store on PC, as windows 10 will use virtual machines like xbox, So games will run no problems across both platforms. Man I'm looking forward to this event.

Welcome to the xbox one party dude.

Microsoft has been building direct X since the mid 90s and are the leaders the world over in software and middleware. On top of that Xbox One is custom designed for dx12 and other features such as tiled resources. Sony has a hell of allot of catching up to do so best of luck with that.

At this point I can't see how anyone can deny the great benefits dx12 will bring to Xbox one. The Xbox One's API has already evolved so much in its first year improving the consoles performance, and this is a dx11 based API. Microsoft of course custom designed the Xbox one around dx12 and so it makes perfect sense that x1 hardware will not be fully utilize until games are running on dx12. GDC can't come soon enough hopefully things will be allot clearer then and denial will not b...

Don't worry man all forza motorsport games are 60 fps only horizon are 30.

Yeah that's a fair point, did you listen to the interview though? There was some real swagger in the way he was talking, didn't feel b.s to me.

After listening to Ken Lobb talk about this game during the TIC interview my expectations for this game have skyrocketed. I don't think I've ever heard an executive/developer talk about a game with such confidence. That and fact that it's being developed Platinum Games a studio that's so respected makes me think this could be something very special.

Oh man you Sony fandoys are hilarious, you guys must be getting sore feet from stamping out all these fires. You guys better get some rest. There's alot more good X1 news on the way.

4049d ago 23 agree3 disagreeView comment

The great news just keeps on rolling in for xbox one at the moment. I think we all knew this was coming but it's good to have confirmation. Just so much good stuff coming at the end of the year, just need something announced for mid year.

Why even bother posting a comment when you have absolutely no clue. I had to read your post over just to comprehend it. Neither console is arm based both are x86, and as far as a dedicated gpu goes the future of computing is having a full coherent system this along with low power consumption and heat and an S.O.C is your only option.

Cheers for the link to PlayStation fanboy site with an in house Sony developer preaching the attributes of the ps4👍

"How much better can they get" did you hear what Phil Spencer said I regards to that. Think of the difference between Perfect Dark Zero and Halo 4 on 360 that's how much better, and that's no small difference.

4051d ago 24 agree8 disagreeView comment

Sony purposely designed the ps4 to have as close to full potential processing power wise at launch as possible, that's part of the reason why they used current off the shelf components it was cheap to develop and easy for developers to get the most out of early on. Not saying the ps4 won't improve but it won't be anything close to what the Xbox one will. I think we'll see x1 surpass the ps4 before midyear, greatness awaits for Xbox gamers.
