Mate, its really not I've been a backer for over two years now and personally spent quite a bit on the game, I even built a new rig almost exclusively for it as I feel this game is something very special and I come from console gaming background. But no one has to do that you can run the game on a mid range pc at medium-high settings and it still looks amazing and you only need a $45 starter package to play it and you can try all the available ships by renting them with in game currency. ...
The tech inside scorpio isn't even that expensive. The gpu is basically an RX 480 the CPU is an heavily upgraded jaguar both near the same as the pro, the only cost related parts are the disc dive (same as the "S") and the extra 4 gigs of ram, witch is cheap as chips now. Looking at the hardware the bill of materials is actually not that high. The biggest cost of Scorpio is in r&d for the custom graphics command processor they've built into the GPU witch they can choose...
Everyone is so focused on purely T,F's that's only one advantage Scorpio has over the pro. It's common knowledge the current gen consoles are bottlenecked by the week jaguar cpu's, the Scorpio will not only use Zen but also have higher memory bandwidth and use AMD's new Vega gpu architecture which is a completely new design featuring fpga cores so it will be so much more efficient. On top of that developers have over 12 month lead time to optimize and DX12 will have mature...
Not sure what's worse, rrod/ylod or the fact that the pro is underwhelming with no confirmed issues to be rectified. So I guess we can't look forward to a fix to get it to were it should be.
Yep or their review and final score of a game is not a reflection of the quality of the product but by what will get more clicks, the gaming media at this point is irrelevant and only real opinions by gamers, tubers, steamers and the like are what matters. As others have said in the comments the media outlets only have their selves to blame for policies like this.
Spot on review, the Coalition has done an incredible job on gears 4, amazing considering it's their first game. Everything they added from new weapons mechanics and improved M.P and great rollercoaster campaign only adds to an already killer franchises. Any concerns I had with Epic not developing the game have been put to rest roll on Gears 5!
When ever something new is shown the haters come up swinging claiming the game will never release as it's taking time to develop, what they fail to see is S,C is not any ordinary game with a 2-3 year development cycle. CIG is creating something amazingly on an scale that has never been attempted before and are succeeding at all challenges they are facing. What your seeing is Star Citizen coming to fruition and delivering on what was promised form the start. If you've been a backer for some time as I have you would see that. Star Citizen gets alot of hate because it is so impressive and many that predicted it a failure are being proved wrong or are jealous because they can't play it. I say to them get on board you want regret it.

It's always been laughable comparing NMS to SC anyway, I guess now NMS is out and gamers see what it's about the focus moves back to other games like SC because it delivers what NMS could only dream of.

Wow that's nice, I was under the impression 4k was only for video playback. Xbox one s all of a sudden looks very compelling, so tempted to pick one up even though I will definitely be grabbing Scorpio.

Yeah I starting to get hyped for this game, looks really nice while still staying true to the original. Brings back great memories, H,W was such a blast in multiplayer.
Probably not enough long term I'm thinking, however the industry seems to be evolving I think we'll get new hardware every two years or so either new consoles or upgrades for both Sony and Microsoft. Microsoft probably having something like a PC console hybrid.

Yep X1X is with out doubt a much more capable console than the Pro, Sony really F@#% up releasing the pro not only is the Pro a half assed upgrade it was completely unnecessary they had the lead in sales by a mile. Now Xbox Holds all the power and can control the console race, all they have to do now is wait for Sony to announce the PS5 and out power it again as they did with the Pro... It's beautiful.
