It's not upscaled. It's native 1280x1080. Not full 1080p, granted, but better than 720p. And "tons" of duplicates is wrong also. There are only 1000 cars, a ton is 2000! haha, just having some fun. False. GT1 has a 95 rating, and GT2 has a 93 rating, so... yeah. Good point, though. Competition is always welcome. Without it, GT5 might not have half the features that it has.
Membership is free, and you can play a 30-minute demo of the games on there as much as you want.
I think it efinitely has potential. It'll be hard getting past the fact that you dont actually own any of the stuff you buy. However, I think that this will be successful enough to be compared to consoles and gaming PCs.
Big Rigs is HORRIBLE. I've played it. It's actually so bad, it surpasses the point that something is so bad that it's funny. It SURPASSES that. Plus, they forgot to put a limit on how fast you can go in reverse. I had that truck going 10000 mph backwards... It's just ridiculous.

It was awesome, if only for the story, and I appreciate what they did making it real-time action as i absolutely hate turn-based RPG's. You should play it, if only to get to the ending cutscene. I was so close to buying this game on my PS3. I guess this is just another reason for me to actually go through with my Activision Boycott.
And no matter what console you own, you ought to be able to see that this is getting ridiculous. No matter what console is better, MW2 had equal games on both sides, as did World At War. This just doesn't make sense.
Now maybe there will be a practical use for Kinect... You know, maybe one that actually BENEFITS HUMANITY, instead of wasting a fairly good 3d motion sensing camera on running in place. Seriously, why didn't this come out for PC first? You really have to stretch it to say that it's practical for gaming. It would make much more sense for industrial use.
It's not the gameplay (with i think is pretty fun)that is attracting me to buy a game in a series I've never really had much interest in, but the sheer amount of features it has. I'm putting this on my Christmas list. I probably won't play much online MP, but save it for rainy days with friends and for splitscreen when my buddies come over.

It does have better textures, noone's denying it. But there are trade-offs. Some people think that the PS3 has better lighting and contrast. The only reason I even look at these things is to see if there's a major difference, Like in Bayonetta or Final Fantasy XIII. A blurry window won't bother me enough to go trade in my system for the other.

It's not about the price, it's about how many people go into the stores on that day and might happen to see Gran Turismo 5 and think "hey, this might be fun." Exposure is the term, I think. Besides, they wouldn't lower the price if it did release on or before Black Friday anyways. It's not as if you have to lower prices on everything on Black Friday. They mainly drop prices on last year's models of TV's and etc.
The 27th is the day after Black Friday... That makes no sense, if they could have it ready by the 27th, they could have it ready for Black Friday, and they wouldn't miss that chance. I call shenanigans!

This guy says that during the memory test, the 360 used 512MB of RAM, while the PS3 was using 256 MB of ram... which makes sense, in the context that they were only showing the RAM being used for the video and not the other 256MB of RAM being used for the sound (which is, in my knowledge, the way that the PS3 uses its RAM. i.e. 256 for video processing and 256 for sound) or vice-versa.
