Well, at least NOW they spilled the beans. Now that I see the immensity of this problem, I can almost forgive them for taking a week...
Almost.
I guess the hackers really meant it when they said that all information should be free...
But Sony, it really took you a week to tell people this? Im sure they had a hunch that this happened, they should have told people about this even if they didn't know for sure. Both sides are to blame.
I want PSN back on yesterday.
I don't mind so much that it's down as much as I'm bothered by the fact that Sony has told us almost nothing about the incident. They've been providing updates, but those updates... haven't updated us on anything. And I want reimbursement. Yeah, I know, the TOS says that they don't have to, but they sure as heck should. Any caring company would. I thing Sony has handled this the wrong way. I'm even considering selling...
@egidem, I doubt that there's AA. At this resolution, why would you need it? Draw distance is pretty awesome. I also find it interesting that there seems to be two cameras in the game that correlate into each other. Gives the game more depth.
I also find the lack of being able to track quests troubling, but what makes up for it is being able to use your in game computer/phone/notepad (whichever you prefer) to keep notes. I think that menus would kind of ruin the aesthetic...
So, wait... is that possible? Whenever I go outside the Brightness is up waaay too high and the bloom effect almost blinds me for a second, and I cant find the settings menu to change the brightness. The colors and textures are good, but i find the controls weird. Like, if I sprint too long, my chest starts hurting, and my legs too? What is that?!? The devs must really not want you to sprint. Physics are great, but kinda wonky sometimes. Characters are weird though. Like, if you walk up to an...
Okay, thanks, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't as complicated.
I'd actually rather try out hamachi considering I already have it on my computer. Do you have some tutorial i could use?
This outage makes me wish I had a 360 as well... Not that I think it's better, mind you. It would just be a good backup machine. Or a gaming PC. I'd like that, too.
I'm pretty sure he meant detail-wise, not style-wise. In which case I'm all for!
As for my .02, I think that this would be the perfect time for them to announce the next Nintendo Console. I doubt it'll appeal to the hardcore, though. Who knows, maybe Nintendo will surprise us and turn the focus back to the tech. Nintendo really did mess up in alot of gamers' eyes this gen, but I think at the heart of it they're still the same company that made all those gr...
Hey, if you want youtube on your PS3 (in HD, too!), check out PS3youtube.com. I use it all the time, and it works great! you can even download the videos if you want. it has its problems, but its 10x better than any other solution out there.
Umm... Aussiegamer, I think you misunderstood him. It's a bit funny actually. He was just saying that even if people knew that the game would break your console, they would buy it anyway, simply beacuse it's COD. I don't see the "troll" part.
CHARLIE SHEEN=ENRAGED
I dont see how Redbox would have to handle Blu-Rays any differently than DVDs. They already have Blu-Rays at my local Redbox, and while their a bit more expensive, they use the same casing that the DVD's do.
Anyhow, when games come to my local Redbox, I'll probably be using it. I only want to rent a couple of games a month, ones that are short and don't offer much replayability, while i still buy the longer, better quality games. I dont really like the concept of...
I played both of the Galaxy games, and I have to say that I didn't enjoy either of them. I know, it's strange. But I've felt that ever since Mario went 3D he's been going downhill. I loved Super Mario 64, I liked Super Mario Sunshine, but I didn't like Galaxy. I mean, it was fun and creative, but it didn't feel like genuine Mario to me. It's hard to explain. I just don't find fun in the games.
As for me, RDR was my GOTY, and ME2 might be my GO...
This is what I've been thinking lately. 2010 was a fairly bad year for the PS3, with only a few good exclusives, some bad multiplatform ports, and the hacking scene slowly emerging from the depths, not to mention the casual beast that is Kinect having the "WOW" factor that the Move lacks (NO CONTROLLER!!!). The PS3 really needed a great 2011 to gain some ground, and it's already started great with LBP 2 and the superior version of Mass Effect 2, plus the news of Steam compat...
Generally, I'm a supporter of hacking. I believe that if we bought a product, we should have full access to that product. This, however, might cause harm to the PS3, which I don't want. Companies may start pulling games from the system, hacks for online games will become popular, and piracy will run rampant (Not to mention trophy hacking.)
I wish we could run/ make homebrew applications without opening up this world of piracy to everyone, but unfortunately that's no...
But Yahtzee gives great advice. You just have to listen really closely for some of it.
See, everyone does this. Microsoft, Sony, the whole lot of them use "shipped to/sold to retail" figures. It's nothing special, just a business tactic. I'm sure it's been used before many times. Just move along, people.
Yes, that is exactly what u was trying to imply in my previous post. Does anyone know where i can get more info on how the tech works on both systems? i have a basic understanding but it's a bit blurry to me.
I don't know... I mean, games are great and all, but this going to affect alot of people's real lives. Thank God I didn't have an active CC on there, but there are alot of people who did. This is a big mess up by Sony. They may not have been able to stop it either way, but still... This is a little bigger than Uncharted 3.
