Maybe you're right. I do tend to overanalyze things. But I'd rather overanalyze than underanalyze.

Anyhow, I'm not really going to sell my PS3. I'm just kind of upset at Sony for not being able to play MP for the past few weeks, especially considering I lent out all my singleplayer games recently to friends who refuse to give them back.

Yay, I think that's my first mass of disagrees!!!

I'd like to thank my parents, for teaching me to not be afraid to voice my opinions, no matter how against the status quo they are!

YEAH, he was saying that because things like this in the gaming community happen so often. Under the anonymity of the internet, it's easy for someone who suppresses their racism in real life to let it all out.

He says it's unorthodox because it IS unorthodox. Not many main characters in video games are black. That's all he meant. Why try to spin it so that "unorthodox" is supposed to mean something bad.

As for his asking of whether game...

I know everyone hates IGN, but without IGN gaming journalism wouldn't be as popular as it is today. Without their inception, there would hardly be gaming journalism, and it certainly wouldn't be as widespread.

Also, I don't believe that IGN is biased toward 360, or is accepting money from Microsoft. I listen to their Playstation Podcasts (BEYOND!) and read the PS editors' blogs, and these guys are really diehard Sony fans. I don't know them personally, but...

I don't like the way Sony's handled this. Many times during this ordeal I've been tempted to trade in my PS3 for a 360. But then I thought, "Isn't that exactly what these hackers wanted me to do?" That's about the only thing that's kept me from forsaking Sony in this whole ordeal.

You know what I just thought of? Because everyone is going to start buying PSN games with the PSN cards instead of with their CC's, next quarter Sony's going to be able to say "Sales of PSN cards have gone up 1,000%!!!!" Also, because you HAVE to buy either $20 or $50 cards, sales of cheaper PSN games will go up because after you buy that one game you want for $15, you'll naturally think, "Hey, I have 5 bucks left. Might as well spend it, it's not like it's ...

At first, I was pretty upset at Sony. Then I kind of chilled and took Sony's side. Now I'm just plain sad. I want PSN. I don't care if anything is up but online gaming for a few weeks, I'll take it.

As much as I am against pirating and hacking the PS3, I'm interested in this. Before, OtherOS wouldn't allow you to access alot of the resources that the PS3 had. With this, it seems that you can now access them. It would be interesting to see what people can get running on the PS3 without the limitations of the original OtherOS. Maybe some older PC games. Maybe Minecraft!!!

I'm sorry, I really don't understand your point. Sure, current consoles are technically low-end PC's, but one could say the same thing for the PS2, the Xbox, the PS1, and essentially all consoles, only those did not have the media options that the 360 and PS3 have. Those are additions, and in no way affect the gaming aspect. In fact, you can set it so that the game in the PS3 automatically starts, so that you never have to see the XMB, and I assume that one could do the same on th...

I understand what you're getting at, but I don't think that online has killed consoles. If anything, It's added to consoles. Sure, it's not usually "plug and play" anymore, but it can be. Just take out that ethernet cable or just don't sign in to your respective online service. You don't HAVE to update. You don't HAVE to do anythin online with your console if you don't want to.Bang, no more online, your point is essentially kaput.

I ...

Mistaken, my good man.

"All existing PlayStation Network customers will be provided with 30 days free membership in the PlayStation Plus premium service. Current members of PlayStation Plus will receive 30 days free service."

straight out of PS Blog.

That's not what I was trying to say in my blog. I'm in no way a 360 fanboy, some might say I'm a Sony fanboy but I don't call myself one, but at first I was furious at Sony. The only reason that I cite switching my PS3 for a 360 is because I was at a point where I was seriously considering, as I'm sure a few people might have. I meant to say that being angry at Sony is a viable option, we have to be strong consumers and let our voices be heard. However, I now have a stance...

Yeah, It's not like I'm not mad at Sony, I'm just reasonable enough to understand that it doesn't mean too much in the grand scheme of things. If anything, PSN is safer now like you said.

It seems like we might be heading into the era of terrorist hackers... Just as the world begins to settle into its online shopping and online gaming and online... well, everything, the best way to steal information is, of course, from the internet. Personally, I think that XBL is going to be the next victim. We'll see how this turns out.

It's not that, it's that I bought Sony's console and I don't feel that I've gotten the respect I deserve as a consumer. People claim that I can't complain because PSN is free, and that Sony doesn't owe me anything. They might be right, but a GOOD company would at least do something for their customer. Not to mention that they failed to tell us anything about our personal info being taken until 6 days AFTER they found out that PSN had been breached. That's a big...
