i dont think it'd make sense in the long run, next year a lot of games are coming out. This year would have been the perfect time to release a game like that especially on ps3, seeing as there are only about 2-3 omg ps3 titles coming out.
its isn't like GTA which is guranteed to sell a stupendous amount.
there is no game like this (that i know of coming out on ps3)...well possibly star ocean 4 (there's space exploration in that). Conversely there is no game like FFXIII coming out on 360.
if you want western sci-fi space exploration get a 360 for Mass effect. If you want tolkien-esque free-roaming wrpg get a 360 for fable 2.

i'm not basing my opinion off of cgi photos. That's what a lot of others are doing.
i'm basing all of my opinion on this game off of interviews i've read with the devs, and their track record as i mentioned, FF7, FF10, kingdom hearts have been made by these guys. there have been countless previews of the game as i said on FF-XIII.net. reemember the consistency of the FF series; near all A-AA-AAA's.

i do agree that we are getting a lot of the same just repackaged as new, and certain games are getting too much hype on presentation alone. but then you can't overlook games like Assassin's creed, bioshock, and what you get with the orange box. It is a good time to be a gamer.
08 will be a better time, with ALan wake, splinter cell, MGs4, FFXIII, unreal, heavy rain, Little big planet, GTA IV, Fable 2, Killzone 2,
i get a feeling from this and of what we've already seen that quite a few of these places are quite samey; albeit with different events every now and then, but nevertheless samey.
ages ago when i first saw that confrontation shepard had with the alien in the bar, i was thinking bioware would have created a densely populated central city that you could visit, and there'd be missions where you have to protect people and find out things there. i'spose logically it probably would...
i don't think it's really occured to me yet how much potential a final fantasy set in a modern day setting has.
people keep thinking of Dirge for some reason, because of how dark dirge looked, but it makes a lot more sense to think of Kingdom hearts + the guys that brough you advent children FFX and FF7

uncharted is being regarded as highly as it is, because of how long its taken the ps3 to get to that level. 9 or so months and uncharted was being compared to gears.
and with the comment about uncharted just being another game. kid i feel the EXact same way about mass effect. I think it'll be good, but 8.5 good.

cannot wait for next gen jak. the direction on ps2 was amazing, it had a very cinematic feel to it; the way the shots were directed and the animations during cutscenes
