No jab, defensive much? This game is going to be released first on PS3 (in Japan) in 2009. And people expect the localized version to hit the western hemisphere on both PS3 and 360 simultaneously sometime in 2010.
No nomination for MGS4 in best story is ridiculous. That game is winning best overall game of the year all over the place and it is a story driven action game with one of the best metacritic scores ever this year and yet not even a nominee? **** gametrailers.
GeoW2 as best graphics is acceptable and pretty debatable, but nevertheless ok.
But not even a nomination for MGS4 in Best Story? Prepostrous. Im honestly offended. Gametrailers actually gave Halo 3 a better grade in the story department than they give MGS4. Really???? I could've lived without the win but not even a nomination for the (story driven btw mind you) game of the year for many other publications? That's it, Gametrailers is done for me.
Allthough I do think GTA4 stole MGS4's best Action Adventure award...
Of course this is a matter of opinion. But precicely this new direction they took with RE4 was the same reason why I for the first time in my life bought and enjoyed a RE game. Before RE4 I was a self proclaimed RE hater with its stupid ink ribbons, tank controls, stupid camera angles and frustrating loadtimes, backtracking, and ammo supply.
RE4 turned out to be one of the best videogames I have ever played. RE5 has big shoes to fill.
Here in Mexico I checked on both closest Blockbusters and they had tons of TDKs in DVD but none in BluRay. They were sold out in both stores. Each received like 10 and most were already reserved before they went on sale.

I did my part. I bought my VC and Im loving every minute of it. 24 hours in and on chapter 13. Sega and Sony have some blame for not advertising this game enough and releasing it in November the same day Resistance 2 came out and so many holiday titles are coming out. They could've relesed it earlier during the summer dry days or something. Such a shame to see Wii music effortlessly selling nearly 300k and VC, which cost 10x more to produce, sold a fraction of that.

unless you release this eventually on PS3 I dont want to hear a thing again from you about this "new" multiplatform aproach beacause it's pure BS! You either are or are not and the reality is that FFXIII is no longer a PS3 exclusive and now we have 2 exclusives (IU and SO4) and one timed exclusive (LR). Hopefully SO4 is going to be only timed but still.
What really concerns me is SE gimping FFXIII to make it fit into multiple DVDs.

First of all, Metal Gear Solid 4 lasts around 20 hours of first time playtime including all the cutscenes. All non interactive events of this game clock 8 hours, dude. Not 15. Even then, 12 hours of pure gameplay is what? Twice as much as some shooters including their cutscenes like Gears 1.
Now the initial install was indeed 10 minutes long but each next install between chapters was only 2 to 3 minutes long, not even 5. So check your facts right be...
I'll be honest, I want that game on PS3. Yes Im jealous I totally admit it. BUT that intro cinematic did nothing for me. It was boring and dragged on. What sold me was the main characters and environments. That CG intro was a snooze fest.
Yeah, and then Sony released new PS3 bundles and they outsold in one week the 360 for more than all the previous weeks the 360 won over the PS3 combined. So hold on your horses.
Besides its not a fair to compare a western game (which never sell good in Japan) which happens to be a plataformer and a NEW franchise besides a well know franchise like Tales which happens to be even the most popular genre in japan: RPG! Seriously, think straight.
Its ok for they to complain about the voice acting, but I find it offensive that they would whine about it and NOT mention that you can choose the japanese language track as well. You cimply cannot complain about the english voice acting and then ignore the fact that you have an option to change it!
Other than that... short? I don't think so. Allthough I've got to admit this game is a 4/5.
