Glad to hear they're advertising it... aren't they going to have an infamous bundle? I thought I read that. I think infamous will be the PS3's next Uncharted: underrated when the first comes out while people enjoy it for 2 years... then there's tons of buzz for the sequel when it's announced.
Anyways, I wouldn't be too concerned with review scores. At the end of the day, infamous is a great game.
Yeah, the EDGE reviews are interesting to read.. but I don't really use them to decide if I want to get a game or not. However, their other articles are a good read imo.
I'm surprised EDGE didn't give it a lower score, even though infamous prob my favorite game this gen thus far (no joke). Looks like EDGE won't be at the very bottom of meta like it usually is for ps3 games.
Don't forget GTA4
My most anticipated from the list are Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, and Mass Effect 2... although all these games will be great.
But my fantasy post-E3 list would include a Conker game.
GTA4 isn't very fun, but the story was good.
Crackdown was great fun, but there was no story.
Infamous is also great fun and also has a great story. =)
Zeke is actually a very well-constructed character as your progress through the story. I really thought he'd be annoying... props to Sucker Punch. The story was also much better than I expected.
I got the Gigawatt Blades, but don't use them too often. Just download it off the PS store, then they'll be available to buy with EXP from the power menu.
The majority of reviews are 85-90. Some are 80-85 and 90-100. Then it magically jumped to 70.. and now one site gave it a 60. If the site had given it a 90, people wouldn't say it's biased because 90 is the most common score it has. 60, however is 10 points lower than the second lowest score and 26 points lower with the average.
That, plus their record reviewing other PS3 exclusives are definitely questionable, but I don't care... I got the game yesterday and loving it.
Wow, same score as MGS4.
The site is obviously looking for hits. It's got an amateur-ish vibe and they say 7 = great. There's nothing wrong with that, but Quantum of Solace got an 8, Singstar got a 9, and Wheelman got a 7.
Agreed. What's next.. Heavenly Sword vs Fable 2?
PS3 owners get both, and I think they complement each other nicely. I'm getting both unless Prototype gets horrid reviews, which I doubt.
Yep, the game's mainly getting 85-90s, like the Sly games did IIRC.
Giant Bomb writes great reviews. They don't focus too much on the positives or negatives... they just lay it out for you and let you decide.
^ I thought he said he only played prototype for an hour or so. Either way, what's the point in comparing it to another game that the reader has no frame of reference to?
Regardless, the reaction here is surprising (kind of). The game is getting great scores with two 70s.. PS3 owners should be happy they'll be able to play this in just a few days.
Also, from the review:
"but sprinting up walls and devouring civilians in Manhattan is a lot more fun than ho...
haha, bubbles
If you didn't like the others, I doubt you'll like this. Isn't the MP exactly the same?
ME2 will be awesome, though.
Good question.. but I kinda like it. They'll be able to make a big splash at E3.
I just reinstalled TF2 (haven't played it in about a year) and started getting some spy achievements for about 3 hours, but got the sandvitch...
The change to getting unlockables makes no sense, but I'll get the spy unlocks eventually...
I'm glad it got pushed back.. Fall '09 is getting way too crowded. Hopefully MAG also gets pushed back, so we'll have GoW3, GT5, Heavy Rain, trico, and MAG for PS3 next year.. plus others.
So you agree that most 360 games are average, as well?
