I agree with most of this. However, I don't consider a lack of new exclusive IPs a very big failure for MS, although it'd definitely be nice. Also, Instant On 1080p Netflix should have been under failure since that won't be possible for a while. Does MS think we're stupid?
I do agree that gamers were the real winners. Even if you only have one console, you got some great stuff out of it.
I don't think many devs will utilize it unless it's released with every "nextbox".
If they release it halfway through the 360's lifetime, I don't think enough people are going to pick it up to make big devs want to utilize it.
Actually, I'm the winner since I have all three systems. I got to see new info on Alan Wake, Forza 3, Splinter Cell, Mario Galaxy, Metroid, Uncharted 2, MAG, GoW3, The Last Guardian, GT5, the LBP/Mario Kart game, plus announcements of Crackdown 2, the Agent, and FFXIV.
I couldn't care less about new motion gimmicks, to be honest.
Yeah, the GT5 graphics are obviously better, but people need to remember that both games will be great.
ModNationRacers really caught me by surprise, probably my favorite part of the presentation aside from the U2 gameplay. I wish we got more Agent info, too.
I smell Samba de Amigo
"Not only did Microsoft announce games like Halo 3: ODST, Forza Motorsport 3 and Splinter Cell Conviction, but they promised that they would all release THIS year. Which is something I've never seen done at a E3. And that's what I wanted to hear most from Sony."
Um, MS didn't announce any of those games. We've known about ODST for years, we knew about Forza months ago, and Splinter Cell years ago. Sony showed the first MAG gameplay during the conference, which is coming...
They had some footage on Heavy Rain on G4, but it was just the level with the black dude. I think Sony released all the Heavy Rain info before E3 because they didn't have room for it in the presentation.
It makes me wonder if we'll be seeing it before next E3.
No release date, unfortunately. If I were to guess, I'd say Summer '10 unless they decide to release it during holiday '10, which would be a smart move IMO.
And I don't understand the bickering, either. If you have a 360, get Forza.. if you have a PS3, get GT5. If you have both, get both or make a decision.
I'm going to get both.
Nobody cared about the tech when MS bought it a while ago. There were videos showing pretty much the exact same thing and everyone was like "looks ok"... now people act like it's the second coming.
All the emphasis on motion controllers was dumb this E3. I don't really see much of a difference with wii motion plus, Sony's controller was cool but not ready to show off and will most likely be underutilized if it ever comes out, and MS's motion sensor presentation consiste...
Did you not see him write his name and aim the arrows?
The guy using Natal had problem splashing a bucket of paint on the canvas. Both are a lot different, I don't know why you guys are getting so defensive.
You don't even have a PS3.. why are you reading PS3 articles?
Last Guardian
Final Fantasy 14
Metal Gear
The Agent (new rockstar exclusive)
Modnation Racers
What did MS announce? Crackdown 2 & Halo
Man, the 360 fanboys are really out of control for once. The fact you can't even admit PS3 had a good conference says a lot about you.
I thought it would've been funny if right after the avatar started spazzing out, it cuts to the guy on stage and he's actually in the exact same position.
Yeah, he talked about it during Ubisoft's presentation, but for some reason he didn't show anything.
My favorite surprise was Crackdown 2. Actually, it was the only real surprise.
Yeah, I agree... I don't see people taking a break after a Halo match to go fishing with Milo.
However, it's clear that MS is targeting the Wii crowd. I hope they don't take it too far, but they showed off some good "core" games today.
hah
pedo: "Milo, take your clothes off"
Milo: "Let's go fishing"
pedo: "I don't want to go fishing"
Milo: "Put these goggles on, this will be fun! =D"
