This was bound to happen...The $399 price point is the sweet spot only $150 more than a wii...people will jump on it....this christmas since there are no wiis to be found...nintendo screwed up this christmas....there are no good wii games besides Mario galaxy...vs tons of awesome PS3 games....Would you by a Xbox 360 or PS3 now if you know that MGS4, little big planet. and Killzone 2 are going out in 3 months?

I am not hating on old PS2 games...they are awesome..but there will be a new Shadow of Colossus for the PS3...you can bet on it...but it may take awhile....but most people will not need to play old PS2 games anymore...

Why would you want to play that game when you could play Uncharted? Socom Confrontation? Little Big planet? Sure now all these are out there yet but they will be in a few months...also when MGS4 comes out in march...nobody will ever be play an old PS2 game...if you really got to play an old PS2 game then get the 60/80 GB PS3...they are still out there and only $499.
But if i was going to get a new PS3 today...I would get a 40GB model and upgrade the Harddrive...The 40 Gb model...

Do you really need PS2 backwards compatibility? I will give HD-DVD more life...but bluray will win overall..remember there are over 6 million PS3s...and there will be about 20 million in another year and a half....and by then the standalone bluray players will also be less than $100...just like the HD-DVD players...there are no HD-DVD players right now under $100...that was a one day sale...its more like $200 to $200...and Bluray is $300 to $400 for the low end...remember the low end of bluray has 1080p and HDMI. Bluray will overtake HD-DV...
Drop the price of the 40 GB to $299 by OCT 2008.....keep releasing AAA games...get to 45nm in the cell....make HOME totally awesome...keep updating the firmware......add USB ports in the back of the console...come out with a PSP2 around the same time as the next Nintendo DS....
