I knew this all along and that is why i watch DVDs on the PS3 instead of my Xbox 360...
people are buying it and it is using last gen tech...so if microsoft was smart..they would just keep updating the current Xbox 360 and make it work right...keep making the chips smaller and keep the Xbox 360 for at least 7 years....Sony has a better idea..the PS3 will be around for 10 years...but its configuration will be updated every year...in 7 years the PS4 will be out and it will be backward compatibile with the PS3...but teh PS4 will be the same tech as the PS3 just more memory and fast...
If the wii can do from last to first in 1 year...then the same thing can happend to the PS3...remember its all about price right now...the Wii has no games...although i think wii fit will sale a lot of Wiis in the States. The PS3 will actually have the better gamming lineup in 2008 and 2009. And sony will continue to lower the price to $299 or less...the Wii will not get a price drop next year.

LOL...it is probably true...microsoft does have deep pockets...Now think about this...microsoft is really trying to kill both formats...they want digital distribution...but they know the infrastructure is not there yet in the United States...it will not be there until 2012. And the current HD movies on Xbox live are only 720p so this can not compare to HD-DVD or Bluray which are 1080p and have nextgen audio.
What sony needs to do is buddy up with Apple...Apple is in the bluray ...
they will have to price it no higher than the current Elite price....or if they have the balls...they need to put in the HD-DVD drive in all configs of the Xbox 360....this is the only way HD-DVD will win...there are less than 600k stand alone HD-DVD drives and about 400K standalone bluray drives...and over 6 million PS3 bluray players...bluray is dominating and will win unless HD-DVD gets more desperate.
We will see sub $200 standalone bluray player next year...and we will see...
On a Toshiba stand alone HD-DVD players the initial boot is still around 30 seconds, but movie load time is only about 12 seconds with the latest firmware update. Nice. I will give toshiba props for this.
The Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on is really not that great of a HD-DVD player...read this review on CNET and make you own decisions...If i was getting a HD DVD player I would get a standalone Toshiba.

The PS3 most likely will get the first demo...since it is the lead platform...
The PSN service is free and will always be free after what microsoft has pulled today....and the nintendo service is free also...console online services should be free....Also people forget the PSN service has dedicated servers for all its games...there is NO lag...it is awesome....this is not even possible on xbox live...and the PSN service is open allowing user generated content...(UT3, Little big planet, HOME) HOME is going to kick ass now...people will be buying PS3 like no tommorrow in 2...
The way the PS3 handles media is more elegant than the Xbox 360...and with the new divx\xvid update commming soon...it will still be the ultimate video machine...the PS3 that is...Plus you can leave on the PS3 without fear of it crashing with the red ring of death...

Its really $349.99 for a 40 GB PS3....remmember you still get 5 free bluray movies...
Pain will get better with added content...but it is a good game...and it is only $10.
Everyday Shooter and Superstardust HD are also totally awesome PSN games...and Warhawk is also a PSN game also...and we know it is the best PSN game to date!
Sony just needed more time to implement the DIVX\Xvid into the firmware...they are still testing...microsoft did jump the gun on them...but that is ok...at least both platforms will support divx\xvid....which is awesome...both will get better in the future...I still like the way the PS3 XMB treats videos...you can see the first 10 secs preview in the little windows...cool..But I am glad the Xbox 360 can not do divx\xvid....Sony better support 5.1 sound!
And by next year...the PS3 will be less than $300 and everybody in Japan will want a PS3 by then...so Monster Hunter PS3 will come out in 2009...

Plus there will always be a PSP version of the game...Maybe even a PSP to PS3 connection in the game...
Pain uses it...warhawk will use it in a few weeks...its worth having a dualshock 3 just for warhawk...
We need patches for COD4, and Heavenly Sword for the dualshock 3..we should get them soon...both will be awesome with rumble!
Pain is awesome with rumble! And remember warhawk will be awesome later this month with the 1.2 patch...it will get rumble support.
This is all that is working right now...
But the Xbox 360 is still not DIVX certified..hopefully the PS3 will be this month...or early next year. I can wait as long as sony gets it right..unlike microsoft with its half ass implementation.
