They can make a cheap stand alone bluray player for less than $200 easily...and it would have 1080p output and HDMI 1.3a...and profile 1.1....you need all of this to be current gen bluray spec...The PS3 is fully upgradible to profile spec 2.0...plus the PS3 is one of the best DVD upscalers to 1080p...FACT!

We all know that Toshiba has a vested interest in the cell and the PS3 (RSX chip)...why come they just can't get along and combine the HD-DVD and Bluray tech into one...
They have a protective coating on the disc...the drive can never scratch it. So any videos showing a bluray disc being scratched by a PS3 drive are a lie. It can not possibly happen.
I have a launch PS3 that has been on 24hours a day since march..folding@home when i am not playing a game or watching a movie...and i have had zero issues. I am about to hit 700 work units..
Failure rate is less than 1 percent....so you will see some youtube vidoes on some screwed up PS3..but on the whole you will never ever see your PS3 crash and die or overheat or scratch a disc like a xbox 360..
Also the bluray discs are unscratchable...they have that protectice coating...this is truly next gen...
People just wake up and stop defending the dismal Xbox 360 hardware! If this was a car it would have been a Yugo and you would have gotten rid of it.

The PS3 really does have just about everything. And the new 7.1 receivers are getting cheaper and cheaper by the months too...
Hardcore gamming will win in the end...it sales more software...The wii maybe selling more hardware right now because it is all hyped p...but it is not selling software...the Xbox 360 is selling more software right now and it has a higher attach rate of software...only because it has been out for over 2 years.

The Halo 3 hype is dead....COD4 killed Halo 3 for the online experience....Mass Effect is simply a overhyped RPG...which will get blown away by White Knight Story, Afrika, and Final Fantasy 13...next year...the Japanese RPG are where its at....
Uncharted is a way better game than Mass Effect and Halo 3...but i give Halo 3 its awesome online...but graphics wise Uncharted is worlds better than these two Xbox 360 games.

Think about it 32 players online with no lag...and now add dropships and new maps....There are already 5 maps with 25 variations and now they are going to add 5 more new maps with probably 25 variations...so now there is be lots of varity....

The PS3 will load and play a bluray movie is less than 7 secs...this can not be done on any HD-DVD player.

This is fact...read the Rock Band forum and you can see everybody is having issues with the drums, mics, and guitars....This is not good...I will wait till rock band 2 or till they fix the instruments...
The cheap ass Toshiba HD-DVD player for $99 was subpar video...The output can not compare to a PS3 Bluray player or even a good $400 HD-DVD player...but it was a bit better than the microsoft HD-DVD player.
Also the cheap ass toshiba $99 HD-DVD player does not support 7.1 surround sound...the PS3 does.
