While far from perfect i'd say that 24 million units in 2 years could be seen as a success. Its obvious and smart that the PSP wasn't designed to take on GameBoy head on. Gamasutra asks a loaded question ... coulda asked it more impartially, such as ,"What are your impressions thus far of the PSP". Why, there's another post http://www.n4g.com/psp/News... on this very website regarding the positives of the PSP, w...
I think its a release date for the pre-order. So it could come out months after that. Still, fall '07 is earlier than expected. I don't think they do preorders on games more than 6 months out.

Are going to improve dramatically this march when new production technology comes on line. Toshiba made the breakthrough so b4 u say its Sony lying again.
Example : install base of 50 with an attach rate of 8 = 400 units of software sold.
install base of 150 (Sony has upwards of 5 times the install base of xbox -- this only shows an example of 3 time) with an attach rate of 3 = 450 units of software sold.
PS2 is still outselling 360, so whaddya think's going to happen next xmas when sony produces numbers of PS3's that match their current PS2 output?
Nintendo : 2,035,000 (Wii + DS + GBA)
Sony : 1,273,000 (PS3 + PS2 + PSP)
Microsoft: 511,000 (XBOX360)
Numbers are only going to go up for Nintendo and Sony, maybe a little for microsoft.
some pretty decent games are coming out this march. Thats a little sooner than 1-2 years, last time I checked. I'll be getting great first party exclusive games and third party games that are on par if eventually better than those on other systems.
purposefully designed the Cell never to be "cracked", only to laugh at those who would try !! Ha ha, we're not even going to give you a compiler. Now let me see you program the thing !
microsoft is the paragon of corporate virtue.
this comment is racist and offensive.
oops
at all the side by side comparisons at the various websites and cannot distinguish any noticeable difference. Its possible that the monitor running the ps3 games wasn't tuned to be as sharp. Just read the AVS forums and you will learn real fast how monitors can be tuned / untuned. Again, this event cannot be viewed as unbiased -- it was staged by a company that is selling and marketing xbox360's and not PS3s. This was a marketing event, replete with paid extras and all the accouterments of a ...
I have all 3 consoles and I want all 3 to succeed and it doesn't have to be at the expense of any other. Certainly Sony could have had a better launch -- they basically lied to their customers about when they would launch, how many they would launch with and what games would launch. Though they always told us it would be expensive. Microsoft had problems with launch quantities but never over-portrayed the quality of launch titles which were pretty crappy IMO. Remember yet a year ago the compa...
this was a staged event put on by a company that bundles Xbox360s with LCD monitors. By a company that sells Xbox360s .... trying to make that sink in .... they sell Xbox360s. I didn't see them mention double blind study anywhere in their press release. Btw, you shouldnt believe everything you read in press releases, no matter who they come from. Always find a second source.
there should be something called "full disclosure" when posting these press-releases.
No its not "unbiased" at all coming from a company who's selling xbox360s bundled with LCD's. This was an advertising event, you've been had.

Would be great for business, they could start handing out lottery tickets at 8pm and keep the store full of shoppers till 12am when they start announcing the numbers. Have a dj, set up demos, etc. No more waiting outside in the cold overnight. Of course they'd have to still limit the lottery so the store doesn't pass capacity, so who knows maybe there still would be a line for the lottery !
is delayed. would be nice to see a compiled list of delayed games, new release dates, and if possible the real reason for the delay. We're heading back into Fantavision territory.
are these delays due to the games not being finished or the publishers want to wait until the install base reaches a certain number .... Its possible initially they decided to publish based on false production yield numbers Sony released and now they're saying screw it we're not going to lose money on these, ..... or the devs just cant get 'em to run right on the PS3 ..... would like to see some investigative journalism here
and look at all the new blu-ray players coming out on the CEDIA posts. From the electronics side, the support seems to be behind bluray. From the content side more studios support bluray. Its time to stop treating press-releases and marketing schlock as news -- these stories are simply flaimbait to drive up clicks -- and its working
oh never mind ....
