are people gonna fall for this crap ...
these announcement rumors are just plants to sew more ps3 dissapointment
i'm thinking of waiting till the "Arcade" version comes out to replace my premium which freezes but hasn't RROD'd I don't play it enough. Tho I like the look of the Halo 3 version, but not sure its worth $120 more.
Maybe I'll get Halo3 and play it this weekend on the old one until it RROD's then I can send it back and hopefully get a new one back. If i can get it to RROD within 10 hours then it would be worth my time. If I have no probs whatsoever in those 10 hours ...
he should spend less time trash talking other platforms and more time fixing his own and trying to turn a profit
that don't know Dean Takahashi ? Just do an amazon search !
having written 2 behind the scenes books on the Xbox, Dean is no stranger to the platform. He did not need to be sent anything other than a copy of halo 3 to review it.
Ethically journalists are not allowed to accept such gifts. And unquestionably he is returning the gifts. "Everybody does it" does not make it right and is not entirely accurate. (The auto industry is notorious for doing this -- how would you feel buying a car based on a glowing review that turned out ...
not only is he not japanese he is a reporter for a US newspaper and has written 2 behind the scenes books on the Xbox (one Xbox and one Xbox360)
its one thing to send payola to a reviewer but to a newspaper journalist and reporter is quite another! Of course Dean unquestionably sent the bribe back, any decent ethical journalist would.
of course the auto industry does this all the time, putting up auto industry journalists in swank hotels giving out swag etc. Th...
@Blazin'
judging from your other comments i'd say this comment is a joke ?
its a bribe ... whether or not it works in any particular case is another point altogether.
a reviewer's guide is not a bribe as it has no monetary value (entertainment value perhaps).
just like payola in the music business with reviewers instead of deejays.
of course reviewers get stuff sent all the time like advanced copies for review but usually its not theirs to keep it belongs to the employer, no?
newscaster hair is pretty much the same in Great Britain as it is in the US
this is the sweet spot Sony has to hit :
40G : just like 20G model but with no emotion engine : $349 US / 349 Euro / 299 GBP. Yes there will be USB ports.
80G : wifi / card readers / chrome finish : $479 US / 479 Euro / 349 GBP w/ packin game and or PSN points
I'm perfectly happy with my 20G I have a wireless bridge and a 160G drive waiting to go in and USB memory sticks. Plus i have the emotion engine hardware.

here is my criteria for whether a console is a winner :
1. makes a substantial profit for the parent company over its lifetime
2. expands the boundaries of gaming as entertainment and art
3. helps to expand the market for gaming
the wii so far is a big winner by this criteria, but it doesn't mean the other 2 wont follow.
my worry about microsoft is that they're playing a scorched earth game, unable to make reliable hardware and profit...
the earlier i can buy the fixed one
i suppose i could rent forza 2 to try to get it to RROD and pray i get a 65nm back. I think i'd rather just buy a new 65nm elite .... once they're out in the wild and get field tested a bit. Would really like a slot loading drive but that prob won't happen till redesign much later. then again, love the 360 but hate to reward ms for selling me defective hardware in the first place. i'm torn.
the retail price of a blank BD disc is not the cost to the manufacturer. In fact the cost of the discs are much closer to regular DVDs ... we're talking cents here not dollars.
has instructions on how to replace the HDD. Replacement of the HDD does not void the warranty.
As the article says, the screws are very easy to strip! I stripped the blue screw and was on my way to stripping the other ones. I didn't have the precision screw driver that they recommend. Now I have to figure out how to remove the stripped screws so i can actually replace the drive. The metal on those screws is soft as butter and those things are machine screwed in.
I have read that Sony will send you new screws for free if you strip them. Haven't gotten around to calling t...
will replace my current unit that freezes randmonly with a falcon.
while i don't really trust the EGM review i have played the rogue squadron series on the 'cube. I must say that due to the controls and level design some of the levels were downright frustrating and unfun. But I still hope that the controls for Lair has been improved over the Squadron series. Even kotaku gave it positive impressions after the initial negative ones.
My prediction is that it will be like squadron with brilliantly fun mixed with hopelessly frustrating gameplay --...
EGM and Games For Windows are the only two print magazines left at 1up.com. The only sponsor of GFW is Micro$oft. How much do you think EGM is sponsored by M$? 1UP has become total garbage, no matter what their reviews end up being, positive or negative, those people are not unbiased, no matter how much they insist they are plus they tend to be rather poor judges of games. The sooner 1up goes under, the better.
"People around the world hate America and anything American.
People around the world hate Microsoft and everything Microsoft's.
Couple those two together...and there you have it. There is absolutely nothing MS can do to win the hearts of those people. "
Apple is doing just fine in Japan. Windows and Office, while slightly threatened, are doing more than well. Granted Japan can be a tough nut to crack marketing wise, but its not due to hat...
