i've finally been playing my long-purchased copy of loco roco on my 1/2 hour train ride to work. Usually get thru 2 levels per ride, going to play thru all the levels once and then go back again to get what i missed. then at the end i'll put all the houses together. Real relaxing enjoyable fun. The ps3 version looks to be pretty awesome, and i hope they make good use of the tilt controls as i find myself tilting the psp when i play this game.

19.4 - one can only speculate as to why madden only runs at 30fps on the ps3. I've read that games developed for the 360 are difficult to port to the ps3 (though i'm not sure why). this could be the situation at EA, or perhaps their inhouse toolkits / engines are not up to the task. EA/Criterion has developed Burnout Paradise targeting the PS3 first and stated the game would look better on the PS3. So I think 3rd parties are doing balancing acts with their franchises, perhaps looking at which...

i don't read 1up anymore ... the site is slow, their opinions irrelevant and trollworthy.

PS3 sales have already doubled and will continue to do so throughout the fall. The only thing hampering PS3 sales this holiday will be shortages.

first of all this only involves purchasing stuff from the store, not the ability to play online
"As it stands, every single person in the military or working for the military abroad does not have the ability to purchase items off of the Play Station Store unless they have an address in the U.S. linked to their credit card."

secondly, as the author states :

"BTW, Xbox Live has the same problem, but at least I could order the points cards onli...

is more likely cheaper to produce than the 60G model. The 80G drive only costs cents more than the 60G drive and the 80G model leaves out the emotion engine chip. The cost to Sony to include a 1st party title (basically the cost of the disc and packaging) and an extra controller ? probably amounts to a $75 net gain for sony for the 80G vs the 60g.

Sony hasn't lied to anyone. They said they dropped the price of the 60G by $100, and have plenty of units to last for the forseeable...

but as a whole Sony corporation is turning a profit thanks to the turnaround in the electronics division.

SCEI during the PS2 heyday was contributing 60% to sony's net income. I'm sure it will begin to turn around again starting this holiday season.

Everything in Sony's first party remaining 2007 lineup would have to flop for the games division to be in serious trouble. I don't see that happening. We're at 3.5 million ps3's, the psp is hitting its stride and th...

if ms identifies and fixes the design flaw would that open them up to class action suits ...

this wont / cant be fixed methinks till they switch to the 65nm chips that way they can claim the fixed design is due to the new chip / mobo and not the faulty current design.

isn't the EU starting to investigate .... sooner or later the EU / BBB / US Congress will put the pressure on ... there needs to be a recall of every 360 produced with a free install of the heat pip...

any recent component cost analyses on the PS3 but i imagine there are a bunch of unsold PS3's sitting out there with 3.5 million sold worldwide and reports of 5.5 million produced through march. i'm sure they don't want to reduce the price on those. that said, everyone who's saying that Sony is losing $200 on each PS3 is just quoting old out of date data.

funny, i bought my PS3 for the "reduced" price of $499 which was like getting a blu-ray player for $100. A $399 ...

is there a link to an actual press release that qualifies this as legit? it contains games that have already been released, and is missing others like Unreal Tournament 3. I'll stick with ign's list thank you very much.

Sony Posts Major Financial Year Losses

I hope they eliminated the freezing in single player mode that occurs on the 360.

"it is harder for us to make the PLAYSTATION 3 freeze randomly during single player mode than it is for us on the 360, thus making it impossible for us to bring this title to the PLAYSTATION 3. We are proud of our patented "freeze effect" by which we take the player to new heights of surprise, astonishment, and exasperation for unprecedented emotional engagement with the game. This effect was first incorporated in GRAW2, and we look forward to bringing it to the Splinter Cell f...

What is the point of this article? I can't really tell the way it is written. Yes, the home and entertainment division is losing money. Yes there are million + selling titles. So how much are these sales offsetting losses? How realistic are MS projections of profitability? How is success defined / measured .... profitability, marketshare, brand goodwill? Cant really tell by reading this.

I have to agree with TopGamer and kewlkat .... Sony does have a hype machine and needs to show the goods with their games. Which is why I can understand a lot of people sitting on the fence. So far I see articles and previews and I'm hoping the games live up to it but am not sure. Motorstorm is a fun game and all but I think it still lives up to maybe 80% of what was shown in the target E3 video. So please blow me away just as Gears did for the 360.

People have said this before but I'm going to say it again. Generally speaking I don't think there are any losers this generation. If you're budget constrained and have to choose, and you make an informed choice based on your past gaming experiences and where you want to go moving forward, you will be happy with your choice. We're very close to having I wouldn't say perfect competition in this market but as much as can be expected and the market is growing, so there's room enough for everyone...

I like my 360 and I like my PS3. The 360's had a year head start. At this time last year you basically had GRAW. The PS3 will slowly hit its stride by Fall and will be full gallup by this time next year. Most doubts will be put to rest by that time. I say this because of Resistance and Motorstorm, both out now, show that Sony can produce fun, next-gen games. Sony has proven itself with the PS2, and is showing some great games for the PS3 in the pipeline. I hate that they left the impression t...
