I think Sony should improve PS Now. Make PS Now fully backwards compatible and offer PS5 games via the cloud for renting purposes with the PS store to buy and own the game license. This way, Sony lowers its costs (manufacturing, factory burden, and transportation costs), increases its audience (PC gamers and mobile gamers signing up for PS Now). Really, console hardware is done and buried. There is no point in making console hardware anymore. Embrace the digital future😋

Make parents sign a form that they will supervise their children if the game is rated mature

Not surprised is Ubisoft masters of game parity

That is the beauty of pc gaming and that is no corporation telling the gamer what to buy or form a gaming library for them. Valve should bring back greenlight or actually figure out how to curate the store. As for suicide simulator who cares. Why must gaming be reduced to just the same franchises, same ideas, etc. Let game developers explore what they want. I applaud the game developer for taking a risk in making a game about suicide but if it is in early access forget it.

The article messed up in that Gran Turismo sport is exclusive to PS4 not coming to PC.

True but it is doable and it means lower labor costs and the best way that game development for AAA gaming would truly become cheaper is by phasing out physical media. Allowing game developers themselves sell their games through their websites and for once console manufacturers allowing game developers to patch/update their games without waiting for approval or paying for it.

Ok, oops messed up on the engines but in an indirect way, game developing is becoming cheaper. Is a time were AAA gaming is failing but anyone can become an indie game developer. Especially, now that gamers financially fund their indie projects through kickstarter, early access, fig, etc. Now that gamers can test the game out and report any bugs, technical issues, or gameplay issues through early access, public, and private betas. A time that gamers themselves advertise/hype games through soc...

There is no need for 150-200 people to make a AAA game. Is a waste of labor costs. Really 50-100 people can make any AAA game. Poor management and budgeting has kept making games expensive. I get it tv ads and billboards get the game more recognized but is expensive. The tech demos and cgi trailers don't help either because if the game doesn't look like it, gamers will complain or worse sue the gaming company for false advertising. There is a US law that the advertisement for products...

But today gamers pretty much test the game via private/public betas, early access crap. Gamers market/hype games indie or AAA games via youtube, Skype, Twitch TV, etc. Gamers review games for free via steam, YouTube, Skype, Twitch tv, etc. Modders free of charge or through donations have made vanilla games into masterpieces. This leads to lower costs for making games; cryengine, unreal engine, etc. are free of charge. With the rise of digital no more manufacturing costs, transportation costs...

Agreed but it is also spent on actors (with the whole mocap technology) which give their likeness and their voice.

This article was terrible. $10000 per person really. Most of the money spent in making videogames has been on Hollywood Actors or low end actors, marketing, tech demos, and over-large staff across the world. Really 50-100 people can make any AAA game locally to cut interpreter costs, global taxes, dealing with timezones, etc.

I can't wait to play this game

PS One/PS2 era games were cheaper for both console and pc. Those games came with alternate endings, map editors, free unlockables, mini games, etc. Even with inflation the PS One/PS2 era games were cheaper than what gamers pay today or even during the SNES days. The glitter of hope are PC gamers, the only gamers that demand for a quality gaming experience.

Yeah right us gamers have made excuses for these gaming publishers for too long. That is why we lost free unlockables, mini games and map editors (map editors are an exclusive feature to PC gaming only).

3077d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

No, we should start demanding for a quality gaming experience. Yes, videogame is a business and yes game corporations is about making money. This is the only industry that people put up with mediocrity. On restaurants, the people complain and demand a quality experience. When it comes to theme parks people demand for a quality experience. In any industry people fight back except the gaming industry.

This article was long overdue; why do gamers accept microtransanctions in $60.00 dollar games is beyond me

I still don't see how free to play is going to work out

From Sony I understand their push for 4K and that is Sony sells 4K tvs. But in all Sony and Microsoft decided to play it safe and released a 2010 mid range gaming PC. Both console manufacturers could of easily released the PS4 Pro/Xbox One X at the beginning of this generation but greed and the ability to sell a console at a profit not loss was too much for these console manufacturers to pass on.

I guess if you want native 4K/60 frames per second, the PC is the way to go. If it does come with mod support for PC then the PC version would be the superior version
