The console manufacturers are better off selling their consumers Netflix style services than another tablet APU gimped up console. All Sony needs is to improve PS Now combine it with PSN and make a sleek tv app. Lower costs, more profit/revenue, and audience expansion 😎
In the end consoles will become Netflix style services. 4K and VR require top of the line hardware hence the high cost. The more VR evolves the higher the hardware it needs; thus, PC not console will deliver the best. VR experience 😎
Agreed
I am glad I can play all those games on PC 😎
Please tell me you were.sarcastic.
Digital is the future. Cheaper games, riskier games, more profit for game developers......
I say Microsoft ditches console hardware in favor of Xbox game pass combined with an improved Windows Store that allows mods, user servers, etc.
I think what has hurt PC gaming is the bitcoin craze and now the cpu meltdown. The PC is by far the better platform, it offers exclusive genres (rts, mmo, simulation games). Don't get me wrong the PS4 does offer great exclusive games but the pay to play online, lack of backwards compatibility, etc. just rub me the wrong way. The price of games on PS4 I don't care for Amazon offers dirt bottom prices for PS4 games 😼
My 2009 gaming PC was capable of running the majority of today's games at native 1080p 45 frames per second including both tomb raider game remakes.
I agree with the analyst but it doesn't matter if the PS4 Pro is a gimkick because still releasing PS4 exclusives; whereas, Xbox One lacks exclusive games
No mention of Spellforce 3
No offense taken. EA does use a lot of people to make their games. Hellblade: Senuas Sacrifice proved that is possible to make a successful game with a low amount of people.
The advantages of a lower team means better management, able to cross train and multitask among game developers, and a strong focus on making the game. Does it mean the game will be better no it does not but it lowers the chances of a buggy game.
Raising game prices to games is not g...
I completely disagree with games costing more.
Stupid article. The issues with modern gaming is the fact that console manufacturers and gaming media in general have too many gaming conventions ( PSX event, comic con, GDC , etc.). Forcing game developers to work on expensive tech demos of their games. Is time to minimize the gaming conventions to just E3, Tokyo Game Show, and European gaming convention. That way it allows the game developer/publisher to work on the game not just tech demos.
Minimize the game development ...
Could it be the lootboxes, microtransanctions, day one dlc, etc. I think it has to be that today's games are less interactive than yesteryear games. Most games today do look better and perform better than old games but the lack of interactivity is really hurting modern gaming. Most games today have more cinematic scenes or pretty much hand hold you the entire game. The lack of mini games and free unlockables along with multiple paths or even able to explore the game world is something tha...
I don't like the word fun, I personally prefer the word engaging but good comment nonetheless.
Is the lootboxes, microtransanctions, day one dlc that make modern gaming awful. Especially if the game costs $60.00 plus tax. Most modern games lack the challenge, discovery/curiosity, mini games, etc. from yesteryear games. Is ironic that indie game.developers have become successful by tapping into the nostalgia of older gamers like me.
The games I can't wait to play on 2018 are:
Vampyr
Agony
Far Cry 5
Quake Champions once is out of early access
Sony might kill it again with its exclusive games.
I agree with you
