Games could be about the atrocities of World War 2. What is the point of bringing back World War 2 games if the games are going to be the same World War 2 games as in the nineties only prettier. A World War 2 game like a rpg or shooter that allows the gamer to play the holocaust in all its gory bloody portrayal will make the game innovative. A World War 2 game were the gamer is a Nazi doing experiments on Jewish and minorities is a game that needs to be made. ...
I like what the author is trying to convey. True videogames really focused on making war games like WW2 games as an arcade experience. The reason for that is due to games still labeled for kids entertainment. Once that stigma is gone, then yes a WW2 game about the holocaust, the Nazi experiments, and Jewish soldiers fighting will come to light.
One of the best games ever made
How about a gaming tv app instead no dealing with outdated hardware.
I prefer a hospital game over another console. The hardware of consoles is done and buried and the whole console business is pretty updated. Soon PS Now and Xbox Game Pass will replace consoles. Instead of buying a console all there will be left is a tv app of PSN and Xbox Live 😜
No mention of a hat in time bad
Really excited for Agony and Scorn
The games are cheaper digitally. Two digital distribution brought kickstarter, the flawed early access, and fig which allows gamers to make money from the games being sold to the public. It was through those methods of gamers publishing games and funding games that dead genres returned like survival horror, theme park games, graphic adventure games, etc.
For PC exclusives is:
Anno 1800 made by Ubisoft
Two Total War games
A new Age of Empires
A new civilization game
Quake Champions out of early access
Escape from Tarkov
Mechwarrior 5: mercenaries
The rest of PC exclusives come from indie game developers or obscure game developers. For example:
Battletech
Frozen Synapse 2
Xenonauts 2 in 3D
Frostpunk
...
I agree with the article and blame myself for getting cold feet in regards to net neutrality. It still amazes me that US ISPs control the government by preventing newcomers to come up with their own isp or preventing government municipalities to launch their own isp.
Console hardware is done and buried and has made game developers/publishers greedy and lazy. Game services like PS Now and Xbox Game Pass will replace console hardware for good
I don't see it, the Xbox One X is Microsoft last console. Xbox game pass on the other hand will become the gaming service Microsoft needs
I don't mind, consoles are already outdated pieces of hardware and is becoming increasingly difficult for console manufacturers to build consoles with current technology at a loss.
The more competition the better for it provides options for consumers and forces companies to improve one another.
Yes, there may be sites that offer cryptocurrency but I have not seen a gaming store or service that allows the gamer to resell their games digitally
In the short-term Steam bents over and applies the ability to resell games. In the long term, I don't know.
Actually resell of products and services is backed up by "The First Sale Doctrine". What this company is offering is one key aspect of "The First Sale Doctrine". So what we are seeing is "The First Sale Doctrine" slowly implemented into digital distribution. This is a great victory for gamers.
That's killed it for me, the cryptocurrency aspect of it. If it does offer refunds without any hoops and loops that will be awesome
Wait to kill it mr. author, a gaming store that uses cryptocurrency
So videogames should remain stagnant and just entertainment fodder. Videogames is the perfect medium for the atrocities of World War 2 because is interactive. Movies and books are a passive experience which may see and read about the atrocities of World War 2 or rape but it doesn't really connect. A VR game or regular game allows to interact in that time period better than a book or movie allowing the player to connect for in VR is experiencing as if he/she were there or in regular form t...
