Not really, all the tv needs is the thunderbolt port. The thunderbolt port allows any GPU to be connected to any wimpy ass laptop. Now imagine a smart tv with an 8 core processor plus thunderbolt port. Man, bye bye consoles.
What do you mean?
Why, because it makes consoles irrelevant. Smart Tvs are the best invention for all your favorite multimedia apps are on there, plus they come with a built-in CPU, plus you can view your homemade multimedia via external hard drives or usb flash drives. Some of these tvs have voice command or able to surf the web. It sure makes consoles irrelevant except for those that play games but 5-10 years no more than that gamers will be able to play from PSN/Xbox Live and Nintendo tv apps 😀
After this generation its clear that console manufacturers were too greedy and sold gamers a souped up tablet in the form of a console. That was as powerful as a 2010-2012 High end PC. To the point that console manufacturers were forced to re-release their consoles at launch prices due to its outdated technology. Its clear that the current console business model doesn't work. Besides both PSN and Xbox live are ready to turn into tv apps. It doesn't have to be cloud based but able to ...
Yes the first or 6 months, afterwards it will drop in price.
I have been saying this for a long time, that is where consoles are heading. After all smart tvs already have built-in CPU and all the inputs/outputs of consoles.....
Gamers are horny maybe that's why adult sex games exist
Ok got it
Hmmm! Is Nintendo fault for not having its virtual console on the switch.
Destiny is garbage my opinion. I say fortnite and PUBG are the world of Warcraft of this generation. They brought the battle royale genre to live and now we will see its copycats.
True but Gran Turismo 4 did offered native 1080p 30 frames per second. MGS4 Guns of the patriots had native 1080i 30 frames per second. There were a couple if very few 1080p 30 frames per second games on PS3.
PC gaming already offers native 4K. The next consoles will offer pseudo 4K with games at 1080p or 720p 30 or 60 frames per second. Console gamers will claim the next-gen has arrived lol
The PS3 offered 1080 interlaced resolution not 720p. That was used to make parity between Xbox 360 and PS3 on third party games. The Gran Turismo franchise, WipeOut franchise ran at 1080p on PS3. Uncharted 3 also ran at 1080p. The PS3 was capable of 1080p 30 frames per second but due to Xbox 360 so utterly weak hardware wise third party developers were forced to run their games at 720p. This generation of consoles has been a sham, console gamers bought souped up PS3s and thought it was next-g...
No mention of VR arcades which are operational here in LA.
What about digital distribution was not that supposed to cut the costs of game development. With digital distribution, the costs to manufacturing, storage (place to store disks), transportation and able to cut the middleman by opening and operating their own virtual store. Meaning this idea that game development is getting expensive, I find it bs. Especially now that gamers do most of the marketing via social media, test free of charge games through early access, private/public betas, etc. pl...
This is what I have been saying all along in regards to free unlockables, map editors, alternate endings, etc .....
Because Amazon sells console games cheaper for now. The whole tax cuts to US corporations did not work. Proving trickle down economics doesn't work. With the current US trade war is going to get worse.
Apparently the tax cuts were utterly useless. For there's less deals and steals for consumers.
The best way is to have a Netflix style rental service combined with the option of able to buy and download a game for $30-$40 dollars.
That sounds awesome, can't wait for the thunderbolt port integration into tv sets
