I see more like a combination of download with cloud computing. I also see Netflix like tv apps for both Sony and Microsoft and the end of console hardware. Sorry, but there is nothing left for console hardware to evolve only to play catch up to PC gaming.

Agreed, the last time that I can remember a gameplay revolution was during the PS 1 and PS2 era. After that the gameplay has been pretty much the same.

The reboot of Tomb Raider started out pretty good. An unseen enemy, Lara being emotional of killing an animal, shivering, and need of hunger. Then after that amazing intro, it devolves into an Uncharted Clone which was utterly lame. How I wished it would of continue from that amazing intro.

The PC already offers what this game developer wants. I still think that Sony will improve PS Now and call it a day.

Sony and Microsoft sold underpowered gaming systems knowing full well that 4K gaming was coming. Not only that but Sony and Microsoft sold old ass games at brand new prices and got away with it. They had no choice but to beef up their systems ahead of schedule due to the games needed more power. Is sad but console gamers got screwed and loved it

Thank you. That is the problem right there consoles losing:

Plug and play
Easy to use
Affordability

Is also gone with the pay to play online, a generation behind pc gaming. On top of that, gameplay mechanics have not changed since the PS2 era......

This is truly over-realistic for a game.

Is about control for too long AAA game publishers were selling their games cheaper. They want to sell their games at $60.00 plus tax, no mod support, littered with microtransanctions and keep PC gamers from having competition like GOG, Greenmangaming to want to buy Capcom games need Capcom launcher., want Activison games get battlenet.....

Was the author of this article drunk or something. AAA game publishers are so greedy that they want to sell their games at $60.00 or more littered with microtransanctions. They don't want PC gamers to have choices like able to buy keys or a AAA game on Amazon, GOG, etc. for they have to sell it at a lower price. Once again the media wants PC gamers to be docile and be more like console gamers 😠

The problem is lack of competition and of falling prices. Pay $60.00 as opposed to $40.00 or $30.00. Bethesda would dictate the prices not the consumer.

What I hate is the fact that Fallout 76 for PC will only be available via Bethesda launcher not on steam, gog, greenmangaming, or even on Amazon. I hope PC gamers let Bethesda know that PC is an open platform not a console

Rising dev costs. Come on, weren't gamers told over and over how digital distribution would cut game development costs. Gamers today have been promoting games for free since social media launched; tested games free of charge and also ended up funding games that AAA publishers refused to publish. Gamers have become part of making a game than just being consumers for free. PC gamers must fix shoddy or broken ports due to AAA game developers refusal to fix them. You want to talk about rising...

Tell that to Australian, UK, Japanese gamers. They pay between $80-$100.00 US dollars for games. Now do you think these gamers would want to pay $110-$120 US dollars, hell no. Games like Hellblade, Ori, The Forest, Divinity Original Sin franchise have proven to be profitable despite its lack of $60.00 price tag. Is greed plain and simple

The gaming has been very pro corporate. The gaming media was pissed when Valve cave to the demand of PC gamers refusal to pay for mods. The media also demonizes gaming key resellers like G2A. G2A is like the old gaming store that made profit from used games. The media refuses to inform consumers about "The First Sale Doctrine". 90 percent of the time it sides with corporations. It was the gamers that fought back against EA in regards to microtransanctions that put pressure not just...

IWhat greedy game developers want to get rid off is "The First Sale Doctrine". For this law allows consumers to legally purchase used physical products, trade, resale, share, etc. They are also pissed with how some of these features are starting to appear via digital. For example, digital refunds which are mediocre at best due to all the hoops and loops the gamer must go through, the ROM community under attack by Nintendo, the demonizing of G2A or sites that resell gaming keys.Is b...

What about games from dead companies

2740d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Agreed, especially if say gaming company no longer exists.

2740d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Is hard to say its piracy when the company that made the game is no longer available. For example, Hudson Soft made lots of NES/Snes games that company no longer exists. So is it piracy for getting games from dead companies?

Is due to all these remasters sold as brand new games regardless if is Nintendo, Sony, etc. That they want to destroy ROMS for ROMS equals zero profit for console manufacturers. I said as gamers we should fight back and continue with the ROM community.
