indeed.
Wasn't it all sunshine and lollipops a few months ago with both Sony and Oculus nonstop saying how awesome and inspirational the other teams were?
Now it's back to back attacks on Morpheus.
In any case, of course it won't be as good as Oculus on a high-end PC, but Morpheus is going to be important in getting VR into the hands and onto the faces of millions of people who don't have gaming PCs.
This is particular...
wow 60 fps with those mindblowing graphics, how'd they manage it?
a vertex is a point where more than one edge meets, a triangle has 3 vertexes, a quad has 4 vertexes.
what you're saying is "per vertex" is "per poly"
and tangent space is the local frame or reference to world space for a given tangent
K, I'll try one more time since you guys are such a good crowd. Examine the pic, and tell me what reality you're on where light behaves like this, or offer some explanation beyond just calling me wrong with no refutation of anything I say:

The dark parts of the room are done by ps4 AR (very cool), and the light spots are also real time ps4 AR (kinda neat), but t...
yes, you're all correct of course.
Because the move has never been replaced with another object in AR.
Like in this screenshot, because you can't see the Move orb, he's clearly actually holding a real tennis racket: http://static.strategyinfor...
The "light" in the video doesn't cast shadows in the real world beyond a tiny radius (l...
It doesn't solve it, and either the article or sony is being deceitful. In the video the flashlight is a move controller, and you can see the character is just reacting to the fake light, and it's badly projecting fake light into the room, which is why the shadows of the couch and his shoes aren't lit properly. I was really expecting a lot more from the 3D part of the ps4 camera. Every AR demo still clips through real world objects like there's no tomorrow, when a 3d camera...
There's a local space that can be described as the world relative to each vertex. They said GCN doesn't like interpolation, so it seems they were interpolating (using simple math to calculate the local tangent space for the pixels between vertexes) these matrices, and for whatever reason it's more efficient to calculate the space directly for each pixel rather than only calculating vertexes, and extrapolating the space between.
A tangent describes a line or in th...
There's a few aspects to it that excite people.
First as far as tech, it's the most technically advanced and ambitious game in the works. The ship and character models have polycounts far beyond what the next gen consoles and mid range pc's can push. It will sport a huge universe like Spore, but with a Hollywood level of detail. The ship's are a single model, so there's no separate inside/outside of ships. If there's a huge mothership that can have ships do...
The game looks boring, not generic.
Also, how is this an article? It reads like a long n4g comment.
This is all I got from the entire article:
'I don't see why people are complaining about the Order, and I wonder if Ready at Dawn is reading comments sections about their game'
yeah, and the dents in the bumper are perfectly smooth curves, instead of creasing and buckling like a real bumper would. Not to mention that hit the side of the car against the wall causes scratches to appear on the middle of the back.
I think they now have a game where everything looks great except for the really badly done car damage. They can still improve it, but now that it's been shown off I can't see them back out even if they decide it brings down the overa...
So this is what XBox One will look like with the combined power of the cloud, dx12, the firmware update and the 10% back from the Kinect. Each one alone was enough to bridge the hardware gap for the ps4, but combined its an unstoppable force that makes high end PC gamers drool. Great job MS.
Why aren't people freaked out? because aside from the fact it was AMD showing it off and not sony, they're not lying about it and showing a fake little console setup to confuse people like XBox does. It's addressed directly from the setup itself, and in the interview like 10 seconds in.
Go look at the Gamescom setup where they have wires and xboxes and kinects setup in front of each screen to support the deception.
@TheBoy Of course the PC and o...
So much denial from the Xbox camp. I would start coming up with excuses now for when PS4 comes out with an open-world racer that also trounces FH2 or FH3.
It's partially because of the open world thing maybe, but there is very clearly a power difference here, and it's been very clear for over a year now. There hasn't been a single XB1 game that makes me think XB1 could handle DriveClub with all the effects on.
definitely need your prescription checked.
Can't you see the new fanboy line is 'but but, fh2 is open world'?
Either that or you can join the sane xbox fans who are actually admitting DC looks better this go around.
Yeah, it's a shame because when you zoom in the screens a lot of it looks amazing, but the aliasing (needs better antialiasing) gives a weirdly last gen quality sheen over the otherwise good next gen graphics.
looks like it also has some type of shader to give it the weird rough look on some objects
@MSBAUSTX, as I said, I'm not a hater, and I plan to get a WiiU myself because like many other Nintendo fans, I like what they do when they do things well.
But as far as it being genius, I don't think comparing it to the other stupidly designed, overpriced, and overly compromising console you own is helping your case much.
The design doesn't allow multiple pads of that type to be connected, which is bad. It drives the price up to near the much m...
Only one gamepad works at a time, so it doesn't work for symmetrical multiplayer(unless you're not using it with all it's glorious touchscreen functionality), which is what I said. Of course you can still play local multiplay, but the main gimmick for the console that drives it's price almost all the way up to the far more powerful PS4 is the iPad controller. You can only use one of those at a time.
I also didn't complain about graphics in this particula...
I still love Nintendo, and plan to eventually get a Wii-U to play Smash and MK, but damn they really dropped the ball with this console. Sorry Ninty fans, but the stupid iPad controller was the worst idea they ever had...well aside from making the main hardware design goals for wii-u to be as small and quiet as the original wii.
I'm sure I'll get downvoted to hell for it, and I root for Nintendo to rise to their former glory, but it's frustrating how few fans wil...
@iamnsuperman
yeah, kinda feel like it should be selfindulgent long like a Peter Jackson flick and it would actually help it a lot, as the game had a slow 'smell the roses' type pacing to it. Making it only about the action would really take away the beautiful, ugly desolation which set the mood as much as the danger and action did.
Really happy about the director and writer choices though. Spiderman had great pacing I thought (last time I saw Evil Dead was i...
Thank goodness they're finally taking steps to start making original IP again. About damn time.
