Most of the original Pokemon are pretty crappy.

Agreed.

"Software stagnation" only applies to Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon to an extent.

Otherwise, you're nitpicking just to nitpick.

Oh, and coming from the guy who said that LBP is more innovative than anything Nintendo has ever done (laughable since the DS is the father of the current handheld market), your opinion holds as much weight as any other comment from a Sony fanboy.

Adding a new type is unneeded, and comparing the Fairy type to the introduction of the Steel and Dark types (which were types that were both needed AND made a lot of sense because Psychics didn't have any conceivable checks at all in Gen 1) isn't sound.

The type chart is fine the way it is, though it does require some minor tweaks (giving the ICE type a defensive buff while nerfing the STL type defensively (only slightly)); the real problem is that Gamefreak has desig...

Ah, makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

Yeah, I'd say instead of increasing the onboard memory, it would be better to pack each 3DS with a bigger SD card (8-16 GB instead of 2-4 GB)

The Vita sales have somewhat stabilized between 10-20K a week, with some weeks being >20K. That's definitely much better than sub-10K (and sometimes sub-5K).

3DS LL dropped significantly. Wonder what caused it. Sales should remain strong for the 3DS in the remaining year though, so no worries.

"Nintendo fans are not Sony fans. They don't constanstly flip their stands to make out whatever their favorite company does to be the best thing ever in the history of the world. They generally stick to their guns as does Nintendo."

I've seen all fanboys do this (like defending the lack of compelling software in the Wii U's post-launch schedule as a "planned" strategy to combat the PS4 and 720). Blind brand loyalty isn't just indicative of...

Even playing games on the PS3, Xenoblade was a marvel to behold.

The art and soundtrack certainly made up for the lack of power. It's also pretty damn sad that, up until the release of Ni No Kuni, no JRPG released on either the 360 or PS3 matched the quality of Xenoblade.

They have a good chance of selling over 40 million by December. Pokemon is like video game crack.

4689d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Nah I don't see that happening because the 3DS, much like the GBA, attracts more core gamers than casuals (the GBA ended up selling less than the original GB/GBC).

The 3DS will still be a commercials as well as a critical success though (much like every other Nintendo handheld released).

That's a given because you like Sony more than Nintendo anyways.

Nothing wrong with admitting your preferences, just don't pretend like you speak from some unbiased stance.

LOL @ hating on the DS. Revoke your gamer card.

Nintendo spams Mario the character, I agree.

Nothing wrong with making neglected games/IPs like Luigi's Mansion or Kid Icarus: Uprising though. In fact, along with new IPs, that's what Nintendo fans want Nintendo to do.

You shouldn't bother. Responding to the anti-Nintendo crowd is about as productive talking to a wall.

The Sony fanboys will disagree. but you're 2000% correct.

N4G has and will always be a pro-Sony site.

The 3DS didn't have much (if any) notable software when it released, though it still sold respectably at launch. It was post-launch (particularly between the months of May and August) where almost nothing of note came out for the system.

The price cut, while it did catalyze a sales growth, would have eventually shrunk back to nothing if MK7 and 3DLand weren't released relatively shortly afterward. Not to mention, the early portion of 2012 had a steady schedule of qu...

I actually agree with you Snookies, and I think the strength of Nintendo's brand power when it comes to their handhelds was underestimated when the industry prematurely doomed the 3DS because of smartphones/tablets. Instead, what we have seen is smartphones/tablets "squeezing" the Vita out of market competitiveness because Sony's handhelds do not have that type of brand power.

With that said, going forward Nintendo's handheld offerings will likely (and ...

I actually agree with this. The Sony crowd largely doesn't like Nintendo games, whereas on XBox I think that they would be more willing to play Nintendo style games as they're made already (Microsoft is already leaning the XBox brand towards a more family-oriented all-in-one entertainment device.)

@Highlife

Jimbob is a representation of the many types of "fans" who complain about wanting things to get better for Nintendo, yet have no desire to buy their hardware or games because it isn't on his platform of choice.

Nintendo doesn't need to cater to people like that who aren't interested in buying their products, period.
