Shouldn't this be on Bad Joystick?
I think judging the length someone has been gaming is just lame. The guy's views weren't always in line with the other sheep, but he understood games and gaming culturally, imo. Most people took issue with his RE5 view, a view based off the 1st and initial trailer shown, to try and write him off, for various reason. I dig the guy and hope he continues in something game related. Good luck to him.
It's typical MS product BS. Because Flash is damn near the standard, they need to have a competing product. NetFlix is pretty much MS owned. The CEO sits on the Microsoft Board of Directors, of course they're going to use Silverlight. Even though it's as broken as everything else MS makes.
I wonder if Halo 3: ODST will up the ante any? Surely MS is going to want to release a "WOW" FPS. Killzone 2 has definitely set the bar pretty damn high.
Name them. You've had to go all the way back to HAZE and LAIR, to try and have a leg to stand on in this conversation. With in an install base of over 21 million, the PS3 can't be overlooked by pubs/devs. So what's left? Paying for 3rd party exclusives (all of the games you mentioned either came to the PS3 or whose sequel will come to the PS3). You have Sony showing things like Infamous, Fat Princess, Uncharted 2 and Burn Zombie Burn (all exclusive, 1st party or both), yet none of those appea...
The term "lag" when used in reference to Killzone 2's controls simply means "I suck at FPSs if they don't play like GameX". For most Killzone players, the "problem" isn't a problem. The more you play, the more comfortable the controls get. It's very similar to every other game you've ever played and had to adjust to the controls. However, since it is Killzone 2 and a Sony published title, it makes it all the more noticeable.
xjxdoggystyyle made me laugh. Halo Wars...hahaha...good one!
How long has Rare been working on the 360, with engines built specifically for it? Since launch imo. And nothing has even remotely wow'd. Again, imo.
But it IS light years ahead of Gears. If you had a PS3 and played the game, you'd see that. And with Sony 1st and 2nd parties sharing tech information and engines...Imagine what R3 will look like, let alone Killzone 3.
Going into its 4th year, why haven't we seen the types of leaps from the 360 we've seen on the PS3? Outside of UE3 engine games, nothing comes close to Killzone 2 has done. And we still have Uncharted 2 and Infamous to come. People should really just accept the 360 is maxed. It's not a bad thing.
I hope one of them sells.
They're "fixing" my console, but won't do anything for the game. They only replace games published by Microsoft. They have a disc replacement program, but it only applies to 1st party games. I was told to contact Capcom (which I did), who in turn told me to contact Microsoft as "it was their unit that damaged the disc, you didn't buy it like that, right?" When I get back from repair, it's being sold/traded.
Now, can you fix the disc scratching? I only ask because mine decided to turn SF4 into a coaster and must be sent off for "repair". Any word on when you'll get to that?
Agreed. I like playing through and being surprised. More fulfilling for me.
Quick! Someone write up how some games take precedence over others. I would, but I'm too busy playing my Sega CD just for spite. I'm a maverick and mavericks go against the grain.
I really don't care to play my music for others. I just want to be able to be in my space and listen to and watch whatever is on my HDD (network preferred). If I invite friends over and they too can listen/watch, great. That's no different than the real world. Give me that and I'm happy.
You weren't a skeptic, you were a hater. Now, you're just back-pedaling so you don't look like a hypocrite.
Square is learning. They've basically opened their eyes to the money they're leaving on the table. So they release a game on the 360 b/c MS is such a "great partner", get good sales, wait for the exclusivity contract to expire, then release the PS3 version for even more money.
Regarding Yakuza3...those are some impressive numbers. If it can get to 4-500K in JP, I think we'll see it in the States. Hell, with the numbers so far I think we'll see it in the States.
Quick! Let's take a positive and spin it into a negative! That'll make us seem edgy! The game kicks ass. Its sales kick ass.
