@everton
“Nobody is saying it isn’t good”
Plenty of people are saying it isn’t good, and using fringe scores to justify their position
Yep… I’m going to copy/paste this comment every time this comes up, because I’m yet to see a response from Christopher on it

On a story I submitted 1974 days ago, titled “Top Requested Sea of Thieves Features From The Community”, Christopher failed the submission for the following reason:
“Community feedback like this isn't newsworthy. Community is constantly providing feedback, but it's public opinion and not professional op...
That’s kind of objectively wrong though. I get that everyone has opinions, but it’s been generally really well received, metacritic puts it comfortably at 88 next to titles like Horizon Forbidden West, GT7, Final Fantasy XVI, etc.
Also puts it above games like Miles Morales, Death Stranding, Ghosts of Tsushima, etc.
Do you class all of those as not well received too?
Yeah let’s just ignore all the 8, 9, and 10 scores and call it a dumpster fire because one site gave it a 5 .
To contextualise, it’s currently sitting at the same metacritic score as Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn. Would you consider those dumpster fires?
Hi Christopher.
On a story I submitted 1932 days ago, titled “Top Requested Sea of Thieves Features From The Community”, you failed the submission for the following reason:
“Community feedback like this isn't newsworthy. Community is constantly providing feedback, but it's public opinion and not professional opinion.”
With that in mind I have 2 questions:
1. Are the guidelines different now, and are these type...
What’s a ‘burned game’?
I thought everyone had a sweet PC though. I’m constantly seeing people on this site spout that the best combo for gaming these days is a PS5 + PC. With Microsoft’s approach to publishing their games on Xbox and PC, what does this deal change?
I’m being facetious because everyone’s situation is different, and that’s a very generalised sentiment. But I did want to hone in on this:
“Unless this is PlayStations way of buying time to get enough other titles ex...
Cheered for what sort of thing? This was a preview program, a beta, was it not?
You know that the judge disclosed that day one, and everyone involved - including the FTC - agreed that it wasn’t an issue, and we’re happy with the judge to preside over the case?
Nah that couldn’t possibly be relevant. Let’s continue to pedal the first part without all the facts, that’s a real big brain move.
This comment comes across as super unhinged, you spent 3/4 of it explaining how Game Pass works, which… yeah? We know? MS pays publishers and developers for their games to appear on Game Pass, that’s not groundbreaking. Just a bit weird that you ranted about it for 3 paragraphs. Can you explain your point for me? I think I missed it
“And smaller developers are just looking for a welfare handout because they are scared to work for it and if they truly believed in their produ...
I don’t disagree that this smells like it’s going to be unfinished and janky launch, but I do take issue with things like ‘4 NPCs’, ‘900 empty planets’, and ‘not truly open’, among others - can games not have artistic vision anymore? Would it be better if there were 8 romance options? Or 15? How does that relate to how ambitious the game is?
On the planets, the 900 number came about because of a comment similar to “there’s 1000 ish planets and 90% of them are empty/for res...
Sure, but the full quote in the email is:
“A different view to the general view below might be that we (Microsoft) are in a very unique position to be able to go spend Sony out of business”
Doesn’t sound like anyone was “ready” to do anything, and it’s offering perspective. The title suggests it was a strategy they were “ready” to action
You can bet this story won’t get half the traction of yesterday’s
“How do you combat slow sales and the used game market when most will play on Gamepass?? You take away the ability to trade it in and boom, more sales“
With the confirmation that standard edition will have a physical copy, and the Special Edition (which isn’t available via Game Pass), do you still think this?
This comment aged pretty poorly, standard edition will come with a physical disc while special edition will be digital
Can only seduce 4 people in a sci fi RPG = paint by numbers? Got it
@Spa4tanWhy should there be more if that’s not the point/scope of the game?
“If I exclude games that are releasing this year, then no games are releasing this year”
I mean, it’s a like 3 minute snapshot of a however-many-hours long game, where the focus is on the character confronting something in herself.
They already showed action in the last showcase we got, so this time they’re showing quieter moments. can’t have all action, all the time, right?
They’re just different games that scratch different itches, it’s really bizarre that they’ve been pitted against each other
