Also, Infamous Second Son uses Screen Space Reflections everywhere. So does Killzone. Watch Dogs on both PS4 and XboxOne doesn't. Neither does the PC version from what I can see on the settings menu, it just says "reflections" which is probably the resolution of the cube map reflections. I am assuming this because Ubisoft themselves said that the only exclusive PC graphical features are Temporal Antialiasing (which Infamous on PS4 uses btw) and SSAO. That's a big disappointm...
@DoomeDX Other than resolution and framerate, I would even say Infamous looks better. But people shouldn't be surprised that the PS4 can hold up to mid/high end PCs. It has a fantastic architecture with a large amount of very fast RAM. When it comes to RAM, 99% of PCs don't have the same amount of speedy RAM. Your computer has DDR3 memory on the motherboard, and 512mb/1gb DDR5 on the graphics card. PS4 has 8GB of DDR5. That alone makes a difference. There also other factors but most p...
I'm flabbergasted at the reaction to Wolfenstein. What is so special about it? Usually I would go "different people, different opinions" but this game is so generic and so ugly I just don't get it.
@hakis86 sorry for you getting disagrees, I bought the game and am halfway through. I play it on the highest settings, and it's a crap looking game. There's no way around it. If this game was called "Killzone" it would most likely have gotten 50s instead of 80s.
Really don't understand how anyone can think this game looks good, or even plays all that good. The AI is dumb, it wasn't just the leaked gif. Not to mention it has no MP. This is not a next-...
That game looks like shit. Of course it's easy to hit 1080p 60fps when your game looks awful. Does anyone really feel this game looks anywhere close to Killzone, Infamous or Ryse?
@Utalking2me You really think compression can't ruin graphics? Look at any awesome next-gen title like Driveclub from Gamersyde and then compare that to a Youtube video. It's a huge difference and there's so many details you miss in a compressed version.
What I don't get is that they seem to have gotten rid of Screen Space Reflections but I have to play the game to make sure if it's still there in places. From what I can tell it looks like they've rep...
Not only can it get people fired, I don't think it serves gamers either.
Game Informer also gave KZ Shadow Fall a 8.0. I've played enough of Wolfenstein now to know that these two games are not even in the same league. That Wolfenstein is beating Shadow Fall is freaky and really shows no consistency among reviewers. Wolfenstein doesn't even have a MP mode.
Worse graphics/animations: Check
Worse gameplay: Check
Worse AI: Check
No MP: Check
So how do you defend this? I know KZ wasn't a perfect gam...
Maybe they would have? The stereo type black bad guy? You can make anything into a racial issue. Sometimes there is racism intended because there are shitty people out there, and sometimes there's no racism intended.
Ok, spent three hours with this game so far. How this game scored better so far than Shadowfall is beyond me. The graphics are _horrendous_ (highest settings on PC) both technically and artistically. On top of that it doesn't have MP. So how does this game deserve higher ratings than Shadowfall?
Shows how amazing looking Infamous is, in _realtime_ straight from just pausing the game and capturing the screen.
(referring to the Photo contest, not the Art contest of course)
That daytime does not look like GTAV, looks better. Cars are better looking, more trees and foliage etc. Plus GTAV did not have wind, a memory hog, and a fairly GPU and CPU intensive task. That said I don't think Watch Dogs is the best new-gen machines can do, but it's not bad. I feel last-gen held it back rather than new-gen lacking the power. Infamous is still the best looking next-gen game and I am sure we'll be blown away by gameplay of other games at E3. I just won't trus...
GTX670, mid range GPU based on what statistics? Or just the person who wrote the article's opinion? I actually doubt that's true even though I have a GTX 670. I would say the 570/580 is the current mid range GPU but I have nothing to back that up -- just like the person who wrote this article.
@falviousuk Bribing journalists is shitty. They also gave away TVs at another event to journalists. I don't care what company does it, it's bad. Journalists also get really awesome, unique editions of games with statues etc. that the public can't buy and that's also bribery. Sony has done that with several games and so has many other publishers. Microsoft sent journalists Halo helmets for Halo 4 etc. If I was a journalist, I'd have the integrity of a _real_ journalist and ...
Leakers are damaging gaming in my opinion. At least last year was prety spoiler free -- and it was one of the better E3s because of it. Even if I see leaks I am going to do my best to avoid them (don't put leaks in headlines).
I'm sure you're very responsive to your kids and wife when you're deep into a video game :P.
I do see the anti-social aspect of it as an issue but one that both OR and Sony are aware of. They are both working towards making it a very social experience.
In my opinion, VR is most likely going to be part of our future. Especially as hardware gets stronger. I feel the shark tank and Mars demos were good examples of other ways that VR can be used to e...
I'll buy it as long as any decent game comes out for it. Will most likely get the Oculous Rift too.
Also, in the second video in that article the guy who talks about the game clearly doesn't fully understand game technology. He says "Tesselated water effects" while looking at the rain. There's no tesselation going on there, the tesselation is on the ocean surface, not on the rain or the drops on the asphalt. He also keeps saying the PC version will look as good as E3 2012 when Ubisoft has said that the only exclusive PC features are HBAO and Temporal Antialiasing. If that&...
Why did they remove screen-space reflections? They don't seem to be in any videos I've seen... Infamous/Killzone has them and they look fantastic.
@Dynasty Yes it looks a little bit better, better antialiasing, better framerate and HBAO. _Most_ people however, if you look at the statistics from Steam etc., won't be able to run Watch Dogs in Ultra. Mainly due to the CPU usage and most people, look at the facts not your opinion, don't have the GPU necessary either.
Also, neither PC or the console versions feature Screen Space Reflections. Infamous and Killzone both have this feature and it looks gorgeous. Shame to...
