I was/am excited for this game but I was disappointed in the graphics... With two characters on screen they should be able to achieve so much more. It looks worse than open world new-gen games like Batman, Witcher, Infamous etc. MK9 was great looking for last-gen so it's a huge shame.
@Redcar I have the PC version and it has a bunch of performance issues. People claimed it was able to run Ultra on a GTX670 (same site said this is what most people have which is BS) but the game stutters a lot. You don't have those issues on a console.
The reason according to the programmers themselves: Xbox1 and PS4 has unified memory which is also significantly faster (especially PS4's GDDR5) than normal PC memory and there are no GPU cards with 8GB of DDR5 memory....
@Cupid_Viper_3 Totally agree. Then people complain that there are no surprises at E3, all because of attention seeking people. It's like spoiling the ending of a great movie.
Keep expectations low... much better that way. I'm personally happy if I see gameplay from Uncharted and all the games I already know of like Mortal Kombat X, the new IP from From Software, Batman etc.

“Back in the day, a lot of people lined up, came to look at trailers and whatnot because it all spread word of mouth… and we wanna recreate that… that feeling. And we’re gonna have exclusive gameplay only at E3, it’s not going to be online.”
I agree it used to be great, the mystery and rumors etc. but I disagree that it can be recreated today. Better to live in the present than try to recreate the past.
I disagree with it because it's not what it is anymore. E3 has become _the_ yearly event for game publishers to show off their games to the public. You can even get in to the event even if you don't work in the industry, if you are willing to pay $750 -- but that's not the point. E3 has grown into the defining event of the year for gamers.
Showing off a game behind closed doors at E3 doesn't make much sense to me. You can hold press events like so many others...
That's a really odd comment solar. Dying Light is going for 1080p 60fps. Forza XB1 was 1080p 60fps. The thing is, to most people and most developers, 60fps just isn't worth what you have to sacrifice.
The topic on hand here is if focusing new-gen only makes a difference to making a cross-gen game and the answer is a clear YES. If you have to design with cross-gen in mind, you have to make sure everything you are planning will run on last-gen machines.
To me it was a gorgeous launch title, with a great long campaign and really fun MP. It was harshly judged by the media when I feel it was easily as good as KZ 2 and 3. I do feel the intensity of the action could have been higher, and it's by no means a perfect game but it really should have gotten low/mid 8s metacritic. There was only one really bad section, the flying section, and that's it.
I look at the launch trailer from time to time and think, damn this really w...
@Septic Every E3 has been disappointing to a group of people for the last few years and it's because a) ridiculous expectations and b) leaks. I expect Sony's conference to be solid but seriously, go in with low expectations and be happy if it exceeds them.
Project Beast leak damaged Sony's conference and I have no idea why people want to leak things before they are due. It hurts gamers and it hurts the industry.
I think people have short memories. Compare Second Son side by side with Watch Dogs. Second Son is better looking and it's an open world. Watch Dogs has way more gameplay variety and things to do for sure, but graphically, second son looks better.
Best looking next-gen game next to Driveclub based on what we've seen in my opinion. Can't wait till Tuesday to see proper high quality footage. Hope it lives up to the bar it has set for itself. The Assassin's Creed Unity teaser looked awesome but after the Watch Dogs fiasco I'm a bit worried (WD still looks great, but not as great as they promised).
Colors has _nothing_ to do with console hardware. I don't get why this argument persists. Only thing you could possibly refer to is the quality of the HDR but it would make zero sense for the XB1 to have a higher quality HDR implementation.
This game does in no way, shape or form look better than Second Son. Compare videos/screenshots and try to be objective. SS has better antialiasing (Temporal Antialiasing, only available on PC in Watch Dogs), Screen Space Reflections (not present in Watch Dogs), a shitload more particles, barely any pop-in etc.
It's very CPU constrained so your i5 2500k might not be enough. His CPU is much faster than yours.
Don't give Ubisoft a free pass for deceiving customers.
Besides, E3 2012 IS possible on current hardware. They just made really odd choices. Speaking as a game dev myself here.
@Dynasty Yes it looks a little bit better, better antialiasing, better framerate and HBAO. _Most_ people however, if you look at the statistics from Steam etc., won't be able to run Watch Dogs in Ultra. Mainly due to the CPU usage and most people, look at the facts not your opinion, don't have the GPU necessary either.
Also, neither PC or the console versions feature Screen Space Reflections. Infamous and Killzone both have this feature and it looks gorgeous. Shame to...
Also, Infamous Second Son uses Screen Space Reflections everywhere. So does Killzone. Watch Dogs on both PS4 and XboxOne doesn't. Neither does the PC version from what I can see on the settings menu, it just says "reflections" which is probably the resolution of the cube map reflections. I am assuming this because Ubisoft themselves said that the only exclusive PC graphical features are Temporal Antialiasing (which Infamous on PS4 uses btw) and SSAO. That's a big disappointm...
@DoomeDX Other than resolution and framerate, I would even say Infamous looks better. But people shouldn't be surprised that the PS4 can hold up to mid/high end PCs. It has a fantastic architecture with a large amount of very fast RAM. When it comes to RAM, 99% of PCs don't have the same amount of speedy RAM. Your computer has DDR3 memory on the motherboard, and 512mb/1gb DDR5 on the graphics card. PS4 has 8GB of DDR5. That alone makes a difference. There also other factors but most p...
I'm flabbergasted at the reaction to Wolfenstein. What is so special about it? Usually I would go "different people, different opinions" but this game is so generic and so ugly I just don't get it.
Love this game so far. It's basic so far on the gameplay side but the storytelling and visuals really make it into an excellent beautiful, interactive story. Music is fantastic too, reminds me of Amelie. Very french inspired of course. I wouldn't get this game for the gameplay, but if you are interested in good storytelling and like the visuals you've seen I would definitely recommend it.
Child of Light has more gameplay than this game but both great games IMO and...
