I'm personally glad for the change. Ridge Racer has been completely irrelevant for over a decade it feels like. I think the whole NFSU vibe the trailer had was sorta lame, but if there's as much environmental destruction and interactivity as the trailer implies, then I think Ridge Racer might be worth caring about again. Waiting to see gameplay.
Honestly we don't need another generation on top of the already uninspired lame designs of Black & White. People have been begging for Nintendo to update the pokemon formula. For it's 3DS debut I say they finally give the series the overhaul it needs and do a game based in a region(s) we already know about, which could even include the barely explored regions from side games like Pokemon Ranger, etc. But seriously we don't need anymore new pokemon any time soon. 500+ is enough...
So instead of working on a new Zone of the Enders, which is much more in need of a sequel, and what the team WANTS to work on, we see Konami probably pressured them into making yet another unnecessary Metal Gear. Not excited in any way.
I mean...at least graphically it's pretty sound.
I don't think Reggie sidestepped the question at all. Towards the end of the lifecycle of a product, sales typically increasingly decline, and the Wii is no exception to this trend. He pointed this out and noted that software is going to be where more profit is made, which is all true.
This article is retarded, and not because I disagree and think KZ3 looks bad or something like that. It's retarded because there's no visible changes to the engine. The quality of lighting, geometry, particle effects, etc. looks identical between all the builds of the game. Each screen is just from a different part of the game. Same goes for the Crysis 2 comparison they did.
Honestly who cares? Activision is just going to release another call of duty next year and people will be up that game's ass instead. I don't even know why they even release DLC and patches for these annual releases.
Glad to see Kirby getting the props it deserves.
It has nothing to do with the quality of these games. Call of Duty is having it's 5 minutes of fame, just like Halo did. Call of Duty is simply t he newest pop/culture phenomenon and it has a lot of mindless drunken fratboys pushing it to #1.
If people played the game based on the higher quality, Reach would be above MW2 and BO. Reach has infinitely more options/game modes and is probably the most flexible and customizable FPS on the market right now.
Entertainment Weekly is a fucking joke. They probably decided their picks in between matches of Black Ops and Madden 2011.
I really hope Nintendo and Game Freak read all these articles. I love the Pokemon series but I can only play a pokemon game with the "you are trainer from small town who receives starter pokemon, gets 8 gym badges, and defeats the elite four" premise so many times before I getting quite bored.
All of the pokemon games are essentially the same game reskinned with different pokemon and that's just not enough anymore. There hasn't been any significant improveme...
Honestly not really that stoked on this presentation. I'm sure they could have picked a better set piece to show off than this.
This is almost worth buying the game through Amazon. Most of the ninjas have had fucking atrocious character designs the past few games. They've deviated way too much from their original look.
Hmmm hard to say. I wasn't even a big fan of the first two Resistance games, but by jaw dropped for the R3 trailer.
I actually have the first Mass Effect. Loved it, but just haven't had the time to devote to sinking my teeth into the 2nd yet. Everyone has been jerking off to it this year, so I'm guessing it's pretty awesome ha
None of these. Resistance 3.
If G4 still actually still aired shit about games I'd say they should just bring Gphoria back. So much better than this crap.
Can't wait for this. I hope the extra year of dev time will finally bring the gunplay on par with Halo or other contemporary FPSs. Love the concept for Resistance, the weapons, etc. but I've just always felt the shooting wasn't quite up to par.
This looks incredible.
I love Forza, but I'm so disappointed by this announcement. At least the GT series takes a 3+ year break in between installments and gives themselves enough time to build a new engine and add new features.
Quote me, but this will be nothing more than Forza 3 + some tacked on gimmicky Kinect crap.
Forza = Quality
GT = Quantity
the metacritic scores don't lie.
I'm extremely confident this is not the Wii's last year (nor is it for the 360 or PS3). The cost of game development is high enough as it, where any game that doesn't achieve groundbreaking financial success is considered a failure. Most developers barely make back the money they spend on development as it is. Although the idea of new technology is exciting, it's not practical right now from a financial standpoint.
And also with Nintendo launching the 3DS this...
