"Let's make a game without story and a bunch of shooting." Gears is that, pretty much. Online play is tons of fun, but as far as SP goes, its pretty bad story and motivation wise.
They said they're gonna make it "simpler." I guess that means they're cutting back on the kill streak driven gameplay and letting us shoot it out with only a few kill streaks like COD4. The maps wont be like Favela with a BUNCH of corridors that campers will utilize.
I'm actually kinda hopeful because its Infinity Ward. I'm looking more forward to Resistance 3 and Battlefield though.
Fuck you :)
I have the 360 version and I was wondering why I was so much worse at this than COD4. Its the LAG. I had no idea that everyone else was seeing me a second before I saw them! I'm a lvl 50 (don't care about prestige) and my KDR is .68. On COD4 it's much better at 1.40.
My point is both versions of the game are SHIT. COD4 is still way more enjoyable. L like MW2, but the killstreaks are outrageous.
Kinda true that no one knows about it, cept Mass Effect actually IS a good game. An EXCELLENT game. Get both man. I'm just as surprised as you are that there is barely any buzz surrounding this game. The options in the game play are staggering. Only 2 comments...a DAMN shame.
Damn sure won't. That Nintendo one looks like a 12 year old boy's ass. Yuck.
Am I the only one that thought Thane and his backstory were great? Mordin was my fav though.
Looks great. Hopefully the campaign has had a lot of work/story put into it as much as these MP modes.
The inventory management was absent in ME2. Otherwise I don't see a whole lot of difference other than EXTREMELY refined shooting mechanics. Since no one is saying it, I'm going out on a limb to say that there will be a level that involves a "space battle" like Halo Reach.
I'm getting MW3 on 360 and this on my PS3. I find that shooting controlled shots, tapping the button is better suited to R1 than RT. For COD you just hold down the trigger and you're good to go. Gears too. All 3 good-great games.
@ Sonicsidewinder I preoredered Human Revolution, so I'll get my fix in a month :)
*****MASS EFFECT SPOILERS*****
There are 5 classes to play as that COMPLETELY change the game and I can customize the story to my liking as a renegade or paragon. I'm going back to 1 to save Kaidan. I plan on going back to the end of ME2 and keeping the facility and siding with the Illusive Man.
I might even go back and kill Wrex. Hell, I might do the ...
I know I'm preordering Oct. 15th when I get paid. Uncharted is a gift to gamers, plain and simple. Plus Amazon gives release day shipping for free and no tax.
I was too young to experience the original in all its glory :( I was 8. I guess I'm a HUGE supporter of this "hybrid." RPG fans seem FIRMLY against it. I don't know why.
Even if no one argues against Deus Ex, I still don't know why the argument exists against Mass Effect.
I think Mass Effect 1 and 2 are OUTSTANDING, and I can't fathom 3 drifting away from that trend. Admittedly I'm not exclusively an RPG fan saying that Bioware has turned on me. Deus Ex and Mass Effect are more than "just shooters" and anyone that says otherwise is fucking stupid.
There really weren't any major spoilers TBH, if any at all.
To anyone afraid to watch, it was a funny extended cutscene (the one where Elena says, "he really isn't a rug merchant") and none of us have any idea where, when, or why this is taking place, so its not really a spoiler.
PS I didn't disagree with you in your 3 posts. I'm just as enthusiastic as you are about U3.
@Seventh
"that has very few RPG elements in it" If you're referring to the inventory then I can't sympathize. I NEVER liked managing an inventory. The shooting has always been there so the fact that people think that refining the shooting mechanics is taking a step backward is beyond me.
In your case, it seems like you want something other than a shooter, however Mass Effect has been a shooter (more than any other RPG at least) from the star...
This game might be RPG long. I sure as hell hope so.
It seems to me if you took Gears out no one would've disagreed with you lol.
I almost feel the same way, but I can't imagine it without Shepard. It would be like continuing Uncharted without Drake. I can't imagine it.
I agree, but not in one. Two was a step in the right direction, but you can tell they value gameplay over story. Too bad the gameplay is great in MP and repetitive in SP.
The part inside the worm's body was GREAT.
