It's not just because of that at all. The main gripe reviewers seems to have are the bugs. But there are other reasons too.

For once I actually find myself defending gamergate. From what I could collect from the article, there's no evidence of Gamergate having anything to do with this. Namedropping and accusing Gamergate of probably being involved without good evidence is frankly unethical.
What's more, it misrepresents the issue of harassment of women in gaming something that "probably" happens in connection with Gamergate. The actual issue is probably much larger.
Probably not at all. LBP has had pretty accurate Super Mario levels for years now. Music and everything.
I would imagine it has something to do with the game being buggy. I'm surprised so few reviewers have mentioned the loading problems that occur in create mode or how the game freezes for a short second every time you open the popit menu.

I think Wii U would have killed for Red Steel 2, Boom Blox or Madworld. Wii started out pretty well third-party-wise, but seeing how no one bought the more mature titles, the console's third party line-up was eventually reduced to Just Dance and Zumba-games.

I didn't even know Simpsons Wrestling was a bad game. I played it before I had any concept of good or bad games. I just liked pushing buttons, as well as The Simpsons.
There is already a theme where stuff happens in the foreground. I think it's the geometry-thing theme.

I'm being unfair, but I think that the exact difference is not as important as representation.
It's certainly the most ambitious from a technical point of view. The environments are so detailed, my head would explode if I even began to make out some of the details as I drive past them at high speeds.

I think Driveclub is great, but you're right. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's great, which I already said in my comment. It's a risk to make something new and it doesn't always work, but it's also great to be able to try new stuff. I wouldn't go through life just drinking milk. Even if that leads me to occasionally try awful things like vanilla coke.
No, but The Order, Driveclub, Bloodborne, Knack, The Tomorrow Children, Wild, Rime, Until Dawn, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and Deep Down are. All of which are but some of the exclusive new IPs that either have been released or are set to be released within PS4's two first years. Will all of them turn out great? Probably not, but one has to respect Sony for trying some new stuff.

It's a guess in the same way pollsters "guess" who's going to win an upcoming election. It's an approximation. It won't be 100% accurate and there's a margin of error, which, if you look at the VGChartz numbers, is really not that high.
They're extrapolating data from retail and consumer polls, and no you couldn't. Some offense.
They'll have different play styles, so it won't be all aesthetics no matter what.
My guess is that they'll try to develope the characters through a couple of amusing trailers. Like Valve did with Team Fortress 2. It is Blizzard, after all. They're kind of famous for their CGI cinematics.
