Shiger Miymoto, himself is working on a brand new IP. I don't think a new Zelda or Mario 3D platformer every 3 years or so is a rehash. The next Zelda for Wii U is said to be the biggest, most expensive, detailed Zelda game ever, with more people working on it than any other game in Nintendo's history. It is not even certain PS4 will be out this Holiday. It could be early 2014. Why wait a year to play next gen. Also by 2014 Nintendo will have some great titles out and Sony will just be starting their library on PS4. Nintendo Direct was great yesterday.
Akuma has FF in right now with this trailer streaming next to it, saying to himself, "no Wii U is rubbish, and my PS3 is more powerful and the games look better". PS4 is going to be amazing too, but This game this early looking the way that it does, is great news. I really can not wait to play this, and see what they do with the gamepad. You are right. The gamepad doesn't have to be used in every game in some unique way. What I meant in my comment, was like on the DS/3DS (I don't have either) it seems that some games use the touch screen in a limited way and others go all out. It does not make or break a game though. I would think that if a developer has made Games for the DS/3DS they would have no problem thinking of ways to use the gamepad.
The Wind Waker is and AMAZING game. I was disappointed at first seeing the direction Nintendo went with the the graphics, but I Zelda is one of my favorites so I bought it anyway. After an hour into the game I understood why Nintendo went the direction they did. It was a fantastic game, and I for one can not wait to play it on Wii U. The remake looks GREAT.
Oh common now, The Wii U is RUBBISH. It is not even as powerful as the PS3. PS3 can put graphics like that out no problem, and they have not even tapped into all of the PS3s power. When Wind Waker was announced, and we learned that it was going to be Cell Shade. I was bummed, but then because I really like Zelda games, I picked it up. Clearly whoever disagreed with you is a fanboy. I love games. PS3, Wii, PC, and Wii U. I love the gamepad, it has given me some really cool new ways to play, But I have not seen the Wii U's newer tech in terms of graphics utilized much until this week. WOW the amount of detail in this game is stunning. Wii U is just out of the gate and look at what it is doing already. I can not wait to explore the worlds that will be given to us on Wii U.
