Um, no. Not at all. You just compared a peripheral that would cost hundreds of dollars to a free feature in 3rd party titles. A free feature that MS, Sony and Nintendo don't have to provide any work for and is all done by the developers. You are clearly very misinformed. You can opt-out of the feature itself. As in you can choose to only play with people on your platform via the options menu in-game.

It's really sad honestly. How miserable does someone have to be to not want more features (they can also opt-out of) on their prefered system (Even if those features aren't aimed at that person specifically) just because their "box" is winning a fanboy driven console war. It would be different if people were like, "Meh, whatever. I won't use it". But instead we get people saying this is BS, they tired of hearing about it, it doesn't make Sony money. Now it&...
Shame you didn't enjoy Blacklist. My friend along with myself all thought it was a really good effort considering the last SC game that was good to us was also Chaos Theory. At launch I remember the MP being not so good, but I think the game was updated and fixed a lot of issues players were having. Could be wrong on that though.
@bouzebbal
Why would a Switch Mini -per say- be that expensive with missing features? No removable joycons, smaller display and no dock included. All while being beneficial to their current system as it would play all of the Switch games. If they really wanted to make it even cheaper, no output for TV play. The stripped down but can still play all 3DS games worked wonders for the 2DS. Even if it was only $100 cheaper than a Switch, a $199 handheld that could play all Switch...
If you watched the interview instead of basing your feelings on a headline, you might just understand. It's amazing what context can do.
I could see them doing like a "Switch Mini", "Switch Lite" that's smaller with non-detachable controllers. Hard to imagine them pushing a new system even with it being portable considering that's one of the huge selling points for Switch. Like you said, kinda no reason for it.
If it's all about the games and the developers of those games want their games to be played by as many people, then why is it BS? You don't care about sales and games that offer crossplay allow you to opt-out and play only with your systems playerbase. So why would them allowing it, upset you so much? The logic used against crossplay is laughable. "Oh they don't need it because they're winning". So I guess they should never adapt, innovate and push the industry forwa...
Because MS and Nintendo don't control the crossplay functionality. They just allow it. Neither does Sony. Your logic is the fanboys favorites aren't "winning". So please, do tell. How exactly will the fanyboys be "winning" when Sony says yes to cross-play? Is it magically gonna sell 50 million Xbox's and Switch's so fanboys can say their favorite company is making more money than your favorite company? You realize how stupid that sounds? People on this site...
I'm not defending it. I'm just telling you the flaws in your logic and statements. I'm more of a single players and co-op kinda guy these days, but I don't hate online multiplayer. I do however really enjoy Bethesda's games they put out. So when they announce something like Fallout and it has online. I'm trying to watch everything and learn the most about the game. You saying they don't even know what they want from the game is just flat out false. You're misin...
Same here. After Crystal, I didn't play again until Pokemon X/Y a few years back. It was kinda like riding a bike. Once I got back into the groove and they explained all the new stuff, I felt like a Pro. As a kid I watched the show alongside playing the game and the show always made me wish we could see the Pokemon walk around in the world. Pokemon Go was incredible when it came out, but the novelty didn't last. This game seems like a perfect blend of the original games and splashes o...
Maybe TO YOU. But YOU don't speak for everyone. Again, I never said or acted like those 2 titles were some amazing AAA SP titles. They were good. Not great, not mind blowing, but good. A 7/10 if that makes it more understandable to you? If that 7/10 SP experience is worth $60 is completely subjective, but don't act like those 2 titles were forcing PVP on you like Sea of Thieves did. Not to mention SoT didn't have any systems in place (at launch, not sure about now) to prevent grie...
My initial reaction was the same. But the more I thought about, the more I realized how much time I wasted fighting Pokemon to advance through the game. So many hours just; fighting, using PP, running back to the Pokemon Center to refill HP/PP just to do it all over again and again. Considering it's a spin off game and a main title is coming next year, I'm perfectly okay with this. I'll spend hours grinding in a main line title, but this is more a of nostalgic trip with what many ...
Sea of Thieves was the only title I felt like it couldn't be played Solo. As in (you could) but it would be a complete bore feast along with griefing. Destiny didn't even have PVP intertwined within its open world or missions. It was separate. As with The Division. So how are going to say it's going to be shit by itself when 2/3 of the titles you listed were not? Were they amazing SP experiences like people expected? No, but they were still enjoyable. We've seen a compilation ...
While that's true, what other company with an extremely long history of rich, deep single player RPGS has dove into a full fledge online only survival game? Given an entire different studio is handling all the online funcuntality (which gives me hope it won't be plagued insane online issues) along with dedicated servers, that leaves BGS room to focus on what they do best. Am I giving them a free pass and accepting it's going to be amazing without seeing much? Of course not, but I&...
I never said you said anything. You also didn't say it was a good feature. You said it would be good if Sony supports it. Which is obvious considering it's a concern and has brought lots of media attention. Your entire argument is nothing but hypotheticals and what if scenarios. Which is completely irrelevant. Your other argument is about exclusive games. Exclusive games are a huge determining factor, but it's not the sole reason. If that was the case, the Wii U would have not fai...
And the majority of people buying and playing games on all platforms aren't in the business. They're consumers. Just like you and I. I prefer Samsung over Apple, but I'm not going to defend them when they choose to remove SD card slot just because from a business point of view it saved money. No. I'm a consumer. I care about what I'm getting for the money I worked for. I don't care if X decision makes you more money than you're currently making. Gaming is getting b...
Ummm it kinda is that simple. It's literally happened. Phil even replied back then saying "I wish THEY kept it on". They is the key word here. With a simple "press of a button" crossplay is enabled from Epic's end. Not Sony. Sony doesn't have control over that specific feature in their game, they're just stopping them from enabling it via legal agreements when putting out a product on their platform.
@DialgaMarine
“It’s only anti-consumer when Sony does it”
Well, they are the only ones doing it. It's not just about crossplay. If you're Fortnite account is linked to your PS4 account, you can't access your account on certain platforms. I've never purchased a single thing on PSN for Fortnite. All my purchases were on PC for the PVE portion of the game. But because I linked it to PS4 to play on there sometimes, when I tried to play it on m...
People realize it, but those people aren't investors in Sony nor work for them. They're normal people and gamers. And when Sony choose to opt-out with a slogan like "For the Players", it's a bit contradicting. Obviously that doesn't mean cater to every request, but when your two major competitors choose to opt-in and you don't. It's not exactly a good look from a consumer point of view.
@Elwenil
You guys gotta start actually reading the article you link for "proof". This constant "headline" reading and drawing conclusions just make you all ignorant and lack basic reading comprehension skills.
