@RpgSama
They most absolutely can deny inventory to any extent. Would 100% be wise? Yeah, probably not. However, they could have easily said we will reduce your inventory by 50% if you break pre-order date/time. No one would do that considering how high in demand the PS5 is. That's so much easy profit for these retailers that they wouldn't think twice about doing it. There's a reason MS is doing for the Xbox pre-orders and also why not a single retailer has went...
At face value, you're correct. It wasn't entirely their fault. We're in 2020 though. Sony has launch 4 successful home consoles and you mean to tell me the thought of penalizing retailers for breaking their pre-order times didn't cross their mind? This isn't 2010 anymore. Street dates and pre-order dates are still broken, but not nearly as much as it use to be. Should be obvious, but don't forget Sony is the one sending these PS5's to retailers. No company would ha...
Agreed. Especially after Newegg's response on Twitter saying they sold out in 5 min (They sold out in 2min, and their website was down from 9:00 to 9:02) no bots got any cards and they were all human. Calling major BS on that one when Ebay has scalpers showing multiple receipts from Newegg.
It's not even about everyone getting one. Obviously they can't make enough for everyone at launch. However, Sony nor Nvidia took any counter measures with retailers against bots. All it takes is a captcha during checkout to help prevent bots. They could have both easily organized this MUCH better, but they failed miserably. On top of Sony saying they will give ample time for pre-orders and it won't be a surprise.
When in fact, it was a surprise. Both that we we...
Definitely not quite right. I have a GTX 1080 and able to run this maxed out in 4K with an average of 38-45 FPS. Installed the High-Resolution Texture Pack this morning and now I'm getting a stable 30 FPS and when things get hectic, drops to 22ish. I find it really hard to believe a newer card from mine (and a TI at that) is struggling at the same resolution and lower settings.
@King_Noctis
The 10MB is for the launcher. Sadly, there is no pre-load option. Once the launcher goes live then you can download the game. Launch times can be viewed here: https://www.flightsimulator...
Honestly, aside from the RPG elements everything else is pretty great. It's portrayed as an RPG first, fighting game second. In reality it's the other way around. Fighting game with freedom to explore and "lite" RPG elements. I'm not a big anime fan at all, but I do love me some DBZ and I'm having tons of fun with it. While I do wish the RPG side was more expanded upon, it's still a good game and a good entry for a (semi) open-world DBZ game.

This may apply to many games, but not GTA V. Mind you, this game originally came out in 2013 and is still talked about to this day along with being one of the best selling video games of all time.
Hardcore player since the PS2 days. Granted I'm not the "Be all" of MH fans, but as ONE individual hardcore long time fan, MHW is exactly what I had it hoped it to be. I've even bought it on PS4 and PC. The biggest complaint with MHW (I think many HC MH fans would agree) is the decoration drops were way too RNG. It sucks trying to get a specific deco and there's no challenges or specific harder monsters that have higher drop rates. I could farm Elder Dragons 10,000 times...
Well working with an engine and completely recoding an engine isn't the same field. But do I think it's possible? Yes. Both Bethesda and modders shown progress in that aspect. However I also think it's an extreme amount of tedious work, but that's their fault. I think it would be so much work that it would be easier to create or use a different engine. This engine uses Papyrus scripting. So when the devs were saying everything is scripted for "The player" its somethi...
You also have to remember a large majority of those mods are exclusive to PC. The platform with a keyboard that has 101 keys. Where as a the PS4 controller has 16 buttons. Many of those mods have you custom map your controls or have multiple key combinations to allow them to work. That doesn't even include things from a technical standpoint. On topic with the engine code, well it's the same engine...... Why on earth would you recode something to do the same thing? This isn't anyth...
How are they using the name? It still looks like Fallout, still plays like Fallout, still operates like Fallout, still massive with tons of places to explore with many hidden secrets just like Fallout. Why wouldn't it be called Fallout? If you said ESO was using the name and brand for a cash grab, there's justification in that even if I don't agree with it. Yes, I enjoyed (haven't played in a while) ESO. ESO didn't look like a ES game, didn't play like an ES game, didn...
It's a cash grab why? Because they made a game that doesn't peek your interest? An online only game made from a previously exclusive single player franchise? A game that will continuously be updated for free and instead of charging a monthly fee they offer cosmetics as an alternative that don't affect gameplay? All of these things are subjective and will ALWAYS make for a bad game to specific players. I don't see one person out here defending Bethesda for the mediocre performa...
Fun is subjective. Fallout 76 gameplay (not story telling) is exactly the same as its single player counterpart aside from items being balanced for MP. ESO on the other hand was a completely different experience that played absolutely nothing like previous entries. The quicker you learn your opinion of fun isn't a fact, the quicker you'll have meaningful conversations with people instead of looking like a spoiled brat that didn't get the game THEY wanted.
@remixx116
The problem with your comment is your presenting your personal preferences and opinion as if it was a fact. The game is FLOODED with content. It's just not presented in the normal fashion of NPC's, cut scenes and dialog choices. Instead you have to read, find clues and many cases solve mysteries. I enjoy that type of content and I've even made quest mods that were the same way. Same complaints. It's boring, nothing to do etc, but that's becaus...
Well you see that would be correct if it was broken, but it's not. Are there bugs and glitches? Yes, quite a few in fact. Most of which are animation or texture bugs with some quest bugs. But if the game was broken, I wouldn't have been able to make it to level 46 already. Does it excuses the bugs or performance? Not at all. Granted their latest patch increased performance DRAMATICALLY on PS4 (not sure about other platforms) but the game was never broken. I welcome all the harsh criti...
I'm curious. Where do you get their "anti-consumer policies" from? Asking because a lot of people tend to think that when something is available they don't like, its automatically anti-consumer. Some cases it is, most aren't.
The problem I have with articles like this is when they compare them to games for different reasons. Fallout 76 and No Mans Sky are nothing alike. NMS devs lied saying tons of features would be available that weren't at launch but most if not all are now. Bethesda never lied. They were straight up about no human NPCs, different kind of Fallout experience etc. If that's not for you that's fine, don't buy it. That doesn't excuse the bugs and performance, but they never lied ...
@Foxtrot
The game certainly has some bugs and needs some more optimization, but shallow and lacks content? That's just a lie. If the type of content you want is story telling through NPCs and dialog options, then yeah it's lacking content catered to YOU. The game on the other hand is flooded with content, unlike Sea of Thieves for example that launched with 3 fetch quest types and 2 enemies. That's lacking content. There's hundreds of hours of content throu...
That's not due to compression, that's due to bad file structure. Most simplified example;
A games files are broken into "chunks" per say. In NBA 2K, it sounds like the entire game is one "chunk". Meaning, even if you download 1kb of data to change the text on a jersey (for example). You will need to re-download the entire game because the file needed to access that text data is in that ONE "chunk". Where as, if 2K was split into 40 &quo...
