I think ModNation, now that it exists, should be pushing the genre itself for Sony and there should be a ModNation 2 instead of having LBP create some internal competition.
Personally, I'd really like to see a Sackboy Adventure game, a la Mario Land 64 or Sonic Adventure. I find the world of LBP to be pretty imaginative for an otherwise dull generation, and I think it would be perfect for Media Molecule to dive into a Minecraft/Super Mario platforming kind of series. Push...
I'll see you online then!
That would be money. I always feel that the handhelds are great for Japanese games and the Souls series has gotten some great exposure.
Lol. My sister sucks at everything that isn't CoD, and now she has her own friends on PSN so she doesn't like split-screening. Otherwise I was playing Dark Souls multiplayer.
I'll check my inbox soon -_-
BTW, any of you getting Twisted Metal?
More Demon's Souls! Now that 360 fans got a taste of the Souls series, Sony would be smart to make Demon's Souls 2 for PS4 to have as a system seller.
It's by far one of the best new IPs this gen.
Not sure how I feel with an American heading Japan studios.
@Inveni
His games are just fine, Twisted Metal is a testament to how gameplay is a focus over cinematics
Too many games this gen have put gameplay on the backseat to push cinematics and shiny presentation so they can wow people to buy their products. But gameplay is the utmost of importance-- this is the gaming industry. If you can't tell a game with the uniqueness of interactivity and gameplay, and if you focus so much attention on mimicking movies, then...
Yo Dexter, it's me, Dexter. What's our gamertag again?
Surprised to see such an opinionated piece by Gamespot
I don't necessarily see why he's comparing it to smartphones. I don't see why people expect Sony to fold to the Apple market. His complaints about the operating software is really arbitrary and nothing Sony can't update via firmware. While I'm not a fan of the bubbles UI myself, I am absolutely impressed with the integration of the PSN, it's much more involved than PSN on PS3. It's also not com...
@Dragon
1) I dont understand what you mean, nothing is stopping Sony devs from doing it, but it doesn't change the fact that they are given Sony-funded opportunities to make the best of their games
2) It doesn't matter if that's not the only hardware they developed for, I was saying that Sony developers are going to praise MS for any reason or plainly speak like multiplat developers do who are working on both consoles
Sony owns ND and GG, you really think they are going to talk bad about the Sony hardware? We've heard enough to know that Sony's hardware is notoriously difficult for developers, calling them lazy or ignorant and then praising Sony-owned developers who are paid to utilize only the PS3 doesn't change the facts. There's more bias in accepting what Sony developers say than 3rd party developers-- nor have I heard Sony developers say that working on the PS3 is a piece of cake
@Gribble
Of course they still say it now, not everybody has got the chance to suffer through developing for the PS3 and know it as much as other devs have. What other games on the PS3 have these devs worked on? Even if a developer spends years working on the PS3, it doesn't change the fact that the 360 is still easier to develop for. I see no reason for them to be embarrassed in stating their experiences.
@Black
It takes "skill"...
I can imagine it now, "Yo guys, I got morningwood!"
This is such a good price, I really cannot resist... but there are so many good games I'm occupied with at the moment, so I'll probably continue to wait for even better deals.
I don't think this will be a universal price drop because Nintendo is doing really well and I don't see the Vita challenging them until the Vita gets bigger games. But it's definitely very tempting
UC2 takes more skill than UC3. UC3 has much more balance issues because they just threw in a bunch of stuff without properly balancing the perks or gun balance.
UC2's biggest blow was that they changed the damage input. But UC2's simplicity doesn't make it take less skill, more is not always better
Agreed, these 4 maps are definitely top class UC2 maps. Glad they are all back, though I hope the blizzard from Train Wreck is in full effect in the desert version
I absolutely love Village, and I prefer the UC2 map design over what I played in UC3 beta.
No offense, but why am I supposed to trust this "Source"? Even if he truthful, there is nothing he says that can be deemed worthwhile reporting, the rumor that UC4 is a Launch title for PS4 has been floating around for some time and this doesn't add anything.
I don't really agree-- now, I'm sure Sony thought of it, but it probably didn't go through because they decided it wasn't worth it. Sony isn't in the same position as other companies either
I don't really see the Superbowl audience getting enticed for a $250 Vita anyway, when most of the Vita's launch games wont interest them. I don't think Vita will sell well when it launches mostly due to lack of games that have bigger appeal past Uncharted a...
Too bad the biggest games this gen focus on the opposite
I actually disagree with that. Uncharted puts more emphasis on presentation and cinematics than gameplay. QTE's, platforming, and shooting aren't anything special.
Compare that to the gameplay of Jak and Crash games where boss fights were actually creative, and gameplay was all around more solid and interesting. I can replay those games more times than Uncharted, because Uncharted's gameplay is very scripted and the second time around doesn't allow for any mor...
I want devs to go back to focusing on gameplay first, and creating worlds with inspiration and imagination instead of "bigger and better looking"
