Ni no kuni is not a new IP, its a game by level 5 and the 1st game was actually on the DS.

Nintendo has also created a couple of new IPs recently, they just havent done anything huge so far, mostly eshop stuff, but its not like there is nothing.

OK, im a top end PC owner, and as such i feel that what they showed was very impressive, but not entirely something i was not expecting. Some people might like to disagree but the fact is that (as it always happens, and will continue to do so) the console is already "outdated" in terms of what a PC can do. Thats just being realistic. How many people actually have already that kind of PC is another matter entirely, so its not like we are talking that i could go on Dells website and g...

how could anyone possibly think that the square enix part was anything but a complete waste of time?? i months old video and a tease at a FF game but nothing showed?? c'mon... we all know its Versus XIII or whatever became of that project if they decide to leave the XIII behind(which im guessing is what will happen)

omg then the Vita must have died like 8 months ago... im guessing that's why no one is worried about that one. Here is was thinking that it was because obviously its performance will eventually improve and it was just because it didnt do good for a couple of months...

yeah, but clearly 5 uncharted games in like 6 years is ok, 4 Killzone games in 5 years is just fine, like 8 god of war games in 7 years is perfectly fine...

Its all a matter of perspective, every company has IP's that they make a lot of games with. Nintendo simply has the option to put Mario in many different types of games, doesnt mean they are all the same

And as long as all those games(from Sony or MS) are good, i dont care

i think you are underestimating the potential cost of all those components. DDR5 memory is definitely not cheap, especially not 8gb, the CPU/GPU are pretty good as well, it has that secondary one for background processes, Hard Drive, Disc Drive and all the extra little components needed start to add up.

And then you add the improved Playstation Eye, plus the Move tech on the DS4 AND the touchpad... if we are getting that new PS Eye on every console and you expect a $400 versi...

mmm square enix would like to disagree with you. A complete waste of time

have you finished infamous 2? because im guessing where the disagrees are coming from.. Cole is not coming back

not to spoil anything... but if you played Infamous 2 you would see its very very unlikely Cole would be involved in this game

im kinda scared about the possible price, and that so many online features for free is looking less and less likely. Im already reluctant to pay for Live, and was paying for Plus, so hopefully i wont have to add another subscription to the list.

Overall looking pretty cool, i was pleasently surprised they did go with the 8Gb DDR5, though it goes in hand with being scared about price. As someone who tries to own all plataforms and usually waits for a nice bundle/pricedrop I wa...

single chip?? i thought they said they were on the same die?

4893d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

haha i think you are pushing the boundaries of what Sony is able to put into the market with a purchaseable price if you want Solid State Drive.

With 8Gb DDR5 it really shouldnt make that much of a difference anyway, they can load most of the stuff on the RAM

i dont think anyone really said that it would only be marginally better than the WiiU.. most people have said that the leap wouldnt be that big (which this gen was freaking huge) and its true, there is definitely a big difference in power. But if you ask me, i still dont see any reason why most 3rd party games would not be released on the wii u. PS4(Ultra settings)/720(Ultra-High settings) / WiiU (Medium-Low settings). But nothing like this gen that they couldnt even use the same engine

4893d ago 3 agree5 disagreeView comment

it definitely does, that is some huge amount of RAM, especially that its DDR5.

Though my wallet is crying in the corner of the room right now thinking of much money i will have to spend this gen again to be able to play in all formats

i think a lot of people like to exagerate stuff on this site. Im actually pretty impressed with what was shown by Sony, but i dont even need to think that hard to find a lot of similarities to the announcement/launch of the PS3. And things were pretty balanced this gen.

Wii-underpowered but unique gameplay experience, great 1st party games
WiiU-underpowered(though maybe not THAT BIG of a difference this time) but unique gameplay experience, great 1st party games

@cleverusername

well i dont know, i actually see it the opposite way, not as in them making a mistake, its impossible to know how things will turn out, but actually for the price, everything shown tonight makes me believe even more that this console is going to be expensive.

The CPU/GPU are expensive, there is that other aux chip which is more money, the hard drive, the disc player, DDR5 memory is not cheap, and especially not 8Gb. And then add the price of t...

well obviously the value will be there, but i think it is a VERY risky move if they go again for $500/$600 launch.

It was already a pretty though sell back at that time, now it could be even more. Most hardcore gamers will see the value, but it takes more than that to make a profit

im guessing you dont have a high end PC... dont get me wrong, it is looking pretty amazing, and its a launch title, so its only gonna get better. But i think anyone with a high end PC will say the same, pretty much what was expected.

mmm its not like the show was bad, not at all actually, it was good, but to be honest most of those cool online features that they showed are still just theory, until we see them in action i think its best to reserve judgement.

It wouldnt be the 1st time that Sony overhypes stuff and then people end up dissapointed(Home, remote play, etc). So hopefully they will really deliver on everything they are trying to do, but i wouldnt call it a strenght just yet.

interestingly, this was one of the games showed i enjoyed the most. Yeah killzone looks pretty(finally some more color, haha) as well some of those other tech demos. But i really liked the graphical style of this game and its overall theme. Not to mention Braid was awesome.

Though i did felt he kinda nicely dodge saying it was not going to be exclusive (well timed exclusive)
